Birthday

Maleficent POV.

"Are excessive birthdays just a human thing or a good kids thing?"

Hook looked at me confused. "Huh?"

I pointed behind at the kids decorating the courtyard for Bridget's birthday party. Everything was bright pink and sparkly. "Oh," he said, "uhh..I guess both? Why, do fairy's not celebrate their birthdays?"

"Some do, a lot don't after a certain period."

"How come?"

"Most live too long to remember their birthdays."

"Hm." He thought. "How old do most live?"

"100 to 200 for most. For Dark Fae it's almost 600 to 700 years."

"Damn!"

"Yeah. Faes don't age like human do, it kinda depends on our magic. The less they use during their lives live longer. If they're careless with their magic they live less." I explained.

"That's pretty cool."

"Yeah. So most don't make big deals out of their birthdays. Though it seems humans do."

Hook grabbed his books out of locker and locked it, "yeah, especially the good kids. They love birthday parties and the attention they get from them."

"Hm. Weird." I walked off, hook following me.

"Just out of curiosity, when's your birthday?" He asked me.

"Tomorrow."

"And you didn't think to bring it up because..?"

"Cause like I said, most fae don't celebrate."

Hook looked back at the decorating committee, seeing Flora Fauna and Merrywether helping set up. "Guys those 3 didn't get the memo." He joked.

"What about you? When's yours?" I asked him.

"October 18th."

"Noted."

Hades POV.

"I. Hate. Math. Class!" I groaned plopping down face first into my bed.

Hook laughed, enjoying my suffering. "I figured you of all people would be good at math."

"I said I hated it, I didn't say I was bad at it."

"Hmm. Off topic do you know if M likes weird shiny things?"

I sat up and looked at him confused, "uh..yeah? Why?"

"Facilia has a weird rock that looks like a human heart and I was gonna buy it off him."

"Okay...but again why?"

He had a look on his face like I was an idiot. "Cause it's her birthday tomorrow."

"It is!?" I shot up, kinda panicked.

"Yes. Do you not know your own girlfriend's birthday?" He kinda laughed.

"No!"

"In 5 months since you two have been dating you never once asked?"

"She told me fairy's don't celebrate their birthdays!"

"Yeah, that's what she told me too."

I stared at him, a bit dumbfounded. "If she told both of us that than why are we having this conversation?"

"Cause she may not celebrate but I still wanted to get her something. I'm a villian but I'm not a complete ass."

"Great, now I feel like an ass😑."
