Reece arrived at Marjorie's nursery. He walked in the door and headed down the hall to the office.

"I would not go in there if I were you." Charlotte says, holding her hand out.
"And why is that?" Reece asked, stopping.
"Well she's had a rough day. Lashed out on not one, but two parents. I tried asking her what is wrong and she hasn't spoken. I'm surprised she didn't tell you." Charlotte said.

Before Reece could reply, Autumn came out from around the corner.

"It's true. I was getting ready to call you, I haven't seen this side of Marjorie in a hot minute. Good luck big brother." Autumn says, looking at Reece up and down.
"Right, um, okay." Reece shook his head and opened the office door.

Reece went to speak but was cut off by Marjorie holding her finger up.

"Well I'm so glad you think that of me! I am a manager for Christ's sake. So what I'm dating a Knight? I am not following your footsteps. I'm not 'marrying up' like you did. I'm not in it for money. You only message me when it's convenient for you. Goodbye." Marjorie yelled and hung up the phone.
"Marjorie-" Reece started.
"No." Marjorie cut him off again, her voice cracking.

Marjorie sat back in her chair, putting her head in her hands. Reece closed the door and walked over to Marjorie, wrapping his arms around her.

"It's my mom. She thinks I'm following in her footsteps and marrying for money. She also made comments on me as a person." Marjorie said, sniffling.
"I'm so sorry gorgeous." Reece said, kissing her head.
"I hope you know I actually love you and not your money. Well I mean I do love your money, but you matter more to me. Whatever. I sound stupid." Marjorie started to cry again.

Reece backed up so Marjorie could stand up. Reece held her as tightly as possible.

"I know. I know you love me as is. You don't sound stupid Marjorie. You never do. I love you so much and it hurts my heart knowing you're being treated like this by your family." Reece said, rubbing Marjorie's back.
"I don't consider them my family anymore. I just carry the last name. I consider you, and the staff my family." Marjorie said, her head buried in Reeces chest.

Reece looked up at the ceiling, trying not to cry. He hates seeing Marjorie like this. He would do anything to make her happy and for her to not feel pain.

"Gorgeous, let's go home. We can cuddle on the couch and do whatever you want. I love you." Reece said, holding tight onto Marjorie.
"That would be nice." Marjorie looked up and gave Reece a weak smile.

The two walked out of the office, Reece texting Autumn and Charlotte to close the nursery. The couple got in Reeces car and drove home. Reece rested his hand on Marjorie's thigh, rubbing it to try and calm her.

"Please tell me you bought more wine." Marjorie said, getting out of the car.
"Yes, I did." Reece smiled.

Reece opened the front door and put his keys down. Marjorie went to immediately lay on the couch.

"Come here." Reece said, walking over to Marjorie and lying next to her.

Marjorie moved closer to Reece and rested her head on his chest.

"Am I good enough for you?" Marjorie muttered out.
"What? Of course you are." Reece said, appalled.
"Sometimes I think I'm not enough for you. I mean I was constantly told that as a child and even as a young adult. I've even had past boyfriends tell me that." Marjorie said, her eyes welling up.
"You are more than enough for me, Marjorie. I love you forever and ever. I wonder all the time what I did to deserve you. You are so beautiful, inside and out. You are my everything." Reece said, kissing her head.
"I love you so fucking much you have no idea." Marjorie tilted her head up to kiss Reece.
"I love you more, gorgeous." Reece smiled.

The two spent the rest of the night cuddling on the couch, watching TV and drinking wine. Marjorie would open up sporadically throughout the night and tell Reece more about her past, and Reece instantly comforted her every time.

"I'm so sorry babe." Reece said.
"Babe? That's a new one." Marjorie smiled.
"You don't like it, babe?" Reece laughed.
"I love it, babe." Marjorie laughed.
"So good to hear you laugh." Reece kissed the top of her head.
