"Darling I'm home!" Marjorie opened the front door, looking for Reece.

Normally Reece would greet her at the door with a kiss, but he stayed stationary on the couch, his head in his hands.

"Darling? You alright?" Marjorie hung her keys up and walked over to Reece on the couch.

Reece looked up at Marjorie for a split second with his eyes red. He then looked back down at the floor, trying to cover up.

"Reece? What's wrong?" Marjorie started to get more worried.
"Nothing." Reece replied, his breathing getting more rapid.
"Reece, look at me." Marjorie said.

Reece looked up at her, his eyes puffy. Marjorie placed one hand on his chest, the other on his arm.

"Breathe with me darling." Marjorie said, taking a deep breath in.

Reece put his hand on top of hers and matched her breathing. He immediately started to calm down.

"I'm not going to pressure you to talk. If you want to tell me what's wrong, okay. If you don't, that's also okay." Marjorie smiled at him.

Marjorie took her hands off of Reece and sat further back on the couch. She motioned for Reece to come lay on her. He laid on top of her, his arms wrapping tightly around her body.

"I'm sorry Marjorie." Reece finally spoke.
"Sorry for what?" Marjorie asked, stunned at him apologizing.
"For you seeing me like this, having to calm me down." Reece sighed and looked away.
"Darling, look at me." Marjorie said. "I am going to go out on a whim here and say that something happened with Roger. I know he constantly told you growing up to not cry or show emotion. And he's wrong and evil for that. You're human. You have emotions. It's okay to let them out. You don't scare me. You never have, and you never will."

Reece looked up and kissed Marjorie. Marjorie rubbed his cheek with the back of her hand.

"You're right. He said something to me over the phone today that he used to say to me as a teenager constantly. Normally I can take his comments but for some reason it triggered something in me. I've finally been able to brush them off and not being able to do that today threw me off." Reece rested his head back on Marjorie's chest.
"I'm so sorry my love. It's okay." Marjorie rubbed his back.

Marjorie kissed the top of his head and held him tighter.

"I love you. Thank you Marjorie." Reece looked up at Marjorie.
"Anytime, my love. I love you too." Marjorie kissed him, and ran her fingers through his hair.

Reece snuggled into Marjorie more. He reached his arm out to grab the blanket next to them and handed it to Marjorie. Marjorie put the blanket over the top of them.

"Do you want to watch anything?" Marjorie asked.
"No. Can we just sit here?" Reece replied.
"Of course. Do you want me to talk or stay silent?" Marjorie asked again, drawing patterns on his back.
"Talk. Tell me about your day. Your voice calms me." Reece smiled into Marjorie.
"Okay, well." Marjorie blushed. "I had a parent yell at Charlotte today, and Autumn hadn't arrived yet so I had to go and sort them out. And because you left work early, Carly came and gossiped with me. Mainly about the merger and how she wants me to get the position and such. And then I had several parents complain about the merger, like I am the one merging the nurseries."

Reece just listened to Marjorie talk on and on about her day. He relaxed even more into her and his breathing started slowing.

"Don't even get me started on that— oh." Marjorie paused, seeing Reece had fallen asleep on her.

Marjorie smiled to herself and kissed the top of his head.

"I love you darling." Marjorie whispered in his ear, closing her eyes to also fall asleep.

A few hours had passed by, the couple just holding each other close. Reece woke up and rubbed his eyes. He looked and saw that Marjorie had also fallen asleep.

"Marjorie." Reece whispered.
"Yeah?" Marjorie said, rubbing her eyes.
"Thank you once again. I've never had someone comfort me like that." Reece said.
"Mia never did? After all of those years?" Marjorie asked.
"Well she did, the only way she knew how. That was using breathing techniques. She wasn't one for hugging and holding." Reece sighed.
"I'm sorry." Marjorie said, running her nails up and down his back.
"Don't be sorry. I'm lucky enough to have someone now who knows how to comfort me, and who loves me unconditionally. You don't know how much you mean to me, gorgeous. You've saved my life." Reece looked up at Marjorie.

Marjorie was at a loss for words, she took her free hand and wiped a stray tear that fell. Reece sat up and kissed her passionately.

"Wow Reece. You mean so much to me as well. Never in a million years would I have thought I would meet a man like you. So kind, caring, considerate, and loving." Marjorie said, sniffling.
"I love you so much sweetheart." Reece smiled.
"I love you more." Marjorie kissed him again.

Reece took the blanket off and got up. He grabbed his phone and started playing music. Marjorie sat there with a confused look on her face.

"Are you doing what I think you are doing?" Marjorie asked, raising one eyebrow.
"Dancing it out, yes." Reece smirked.

Reece pulled Marjorie up off the couch. Marjorie started dancing and so did Reece. Reece picked Marjorie up and spun her around.

"I can see that you're feeling better." Marjorie smiled.
"All thanks to you gorgeous." Reece put Marjorie down and kissed her.
