"And I hope it's shitty, in the Black Dog, when someone plays the starting line and you jump up, but she's too young to know this song" Marjorie sang and flailed around in the kitchen.
"Were you planning on breaking up with me and not telling me?" Reece shouted, laughing and closing the front door.

Marjorie hit pause on her music and walked up to Reece and hugged him.

"No silly. I just love break up songs. They hit different." Marjorie giggled.
"Just making sure." Reece smiled, tightening his grip on Marjorie.
"Anything interesting happen today?" Marjorie asked, as she had the day off and Reece didn't.
"No. The usual. Except a deputy was hired at my nursery without permission." Reece rolled his eyes.
"I'm sorry what?" Marjorie was taken back.
"Yeah. My dad did that. And what's even worse is that I know her." Reece said.
"Charlotte was supposed to get that spot! Are you kidding me?" Marjorie let go of Reece and walked away.
"Exactly. Her name is Deliah. Aut, Mia, and I all went to school with her. My dad thinks she's 'the perfect fit' or whatever. I told him that Char is more deserving. And you know how that went." Reece put his keys down on the counter.
"God. That makes me so mad for Charlotte." Marjorie said, finishing wiping down the counters.
"Yeah. I'm livid. Can't wait for Mia to find out. But enough about them. How are you gorgeous?" Reece asked, watching Marjorie in the kitchen.
"I'm good! Cleaned the house, did laundry, blasted music, the usual." Marjorie replied.

Reece walked over to Marjorie and pulled her in kiss, dipping her down.

"And what is that for?" Marjorie asked, her arms wrapped around Reeces neck.
"Just because I can." Reece winked. "But seriously you are so cute."

Marjorie's face turned a light pink as she looked down. Reece laughed and lifted Marjorie's chin up so he could kiss her again. All of a sudden, Marjorie's phone rang.

"Hello?" Marjorie answered the phone. "I'm sorry what? I'm on my way."
"Who was that?" Reece asked, starting to panic.
"It was Charlotte. A parent just insulted Carly and her body." Marjorie rolled her eyes and grabbed her keys.
"I'm coming with you." Reece said, following Marjorie out the door.

Reece and Marjorie arrived at the nursery, and found Carly sitting on the ground in the toddler room, and saw Charlotte talking to the parent.

"Carly you alright?" Reece asked, kneeling on the ground.
"Yeah, I guess. I know you always tell me that I shouldn't listen to anyone who comments on my body, and I've been really good at ignoring the comments. For some reason, what she said got through me." Carly replied, her head in her hands.
"This may seem like a bad time, but Marjorie is about to tear that parent a new one." Reece said, pointing to Marjorie.
"Oh you know I'm watching that." Carly replied, smirking.

Reece and Carly moved a good distance away from Marjorie, Charlotte and the parent, but they were close enough to hear Marjorie tear the parent a new one.

"And where do you get off commenting on a 17 year olds body?" Marjorie asked, fuming.
"Well she should be watching what she's eating, it starts young." The parent replied, smirking.
"Right of course. Do you seriously have nothing better to do? Carly is a teenager. Words hurt you know. Carly is a wonderful girl. She's bright, and incredibly brilliant. You're just mad you weren't like her when you were her age." Marjorie replied.
"That is not-" The parent started.
"You know I'm right. Projecting your insecurities on a teenager is incredibly low. I would stop right now if I were you. I'll kick you out of the nursery if you say one more word. We got a waitlist of 13 months if you want to rejoin." Marjorie cut her off, and smiled.

Charlotte covered her mouth and turned to face Reece and Carly, who were trying to stifle their laughter. The parent grunted, turned around and walked out of the nursery.

"I'm so sorry she said that to you my darling." Marjorie turned around and sat on the floor next to Carly, putting an arm around her.
"I would say it's okay, but for some reason her comment really got me. But thank you for defending me." Carly said, leaning into Marjorie.
"Of course my love. Anytime." Marjorie wrapped her other arm around Carly and kissed the top of her head.

Reece stood up and backed away so the two of them could have a moment alone. Charlotte looked at Reece, and smiled.

"I know Marjorie doesn't play when it comes to her staff, but I didn't think she was going to threaten her. Normally that's all Autumn." Charlotte said, turning to look at Marjorie and Carly.
"Yeah. Marjorie loves Carly like her own. Hell, Carly sometimes acts like her." Reece replied, putting his hands in his pockets.

Charlotte patted Reeces shoulder and walked out of the room. Reece turned and walked closer to the girls.

"Reece." Carly said, standing up.
"Yeah?" Reece asked.

Carly threw her arms around Reece, holding him tight.

"I know Marjorie defended me today, but I am thanking you for teaching me to not accept those comments. I know it didn't necessarily work today, but I thought I should thank you anyway." Carly said, her head buried in Reeces chest.
"Anytime, Car." Reece smiled, and kissed the top of her head.

Marjorie stood up and watched the two together.

"Well, my instructor is here." Carly said, breaking the hug. "Bye Reece. Bye Marjorie! Thank you once again."
"Of course my darling." Marjorie replied, waving.

Marjorie and Reece watched as Carly walked outside and got into a car and drove off.

"Do you seriously have a 13 month waitlist?" Reece questioned.
"No. It's only 6 months but I needed dramatics." Marjorie giggled, kissing Reece.
