Marjorie opened the door and her face went pale.

"Siobhan?" Marjorie said.

Reece got up from the couch and walked over to the door. Siobhan looked up at him.

"This is stupid. I don't even know why I showed up." Siobhan said, turning to walk away.

Marjorie carefully grabbed her arm.

"No, Siobhan. Come inside it's okay." Marjorie gave her a reassuring smile.

Siobhan walked in the door and sat on the couch.
Marjorie grabbed another glass and poured the rose in, and handed it to Siobhan.

"I know I'm not the nicest to you. More specifically Reece and Autumn." Siobhan started, taking the glass from Marjorie.

Autumn looked at Siobhan, and then looked at Reece. She mouthed 'whatever, hear her out' and also took a sip.

"Marjorie he told me what you said to him. It only makes matters worse. He's planning to stop the nursery takeover once and for all." Siobhan said.
"What do you mean?" Reece asked.
"Marjorie mentioned the possible takeover. And how Janice would be on his side, outnumbering the votes." Siobhan continued.
"Well, he put me on the board. That makes the vote 4-3. We win in that case." Marjorie raised an eyebrow.
"Not necessarily." Autumn interrupted.

Marjorie and Reece turned their heads to face Autumn.

"Janice and Roger vote. Plus the silent partner. And Siobhan. That makes a tie," Autumn started.
"That's the thing." Siobhan interrupted. "I don't want to vote his way."

Reece, Marjorie, and Autumn paused. Autumn smirked at Reece.

"I'm tired of his bullshit. I can't live like this anymore. Sure, the moneys nice. But he's starting to treat me, well, worse." Siobhan set her glass down.
"Oh." Marjorie said, holding her hand out.

Reeces face dropped, watching Siobhan tense up after saying that.

"So, you'll vote our way then?" Reece asked.
"Yes. The only issue is that he has everything. I'm nothing without him. We aren't married, but still. He practically owns me." Siobhan replied, grabbing Marjorie's hand.
"Well the first thing that would happen is you being hired. Even putting you on the board." Autumn said, getting up to get more wine.

Reece and Marjorie shook their heads in agreement. Siobhan faintly smiled. Marjorie rubbed the back of Siobhan's hand, in attempt to try and comfort her. The group then got interrupted by a phone ringing.

"That's my cue." Siobhan said, looking down to see it was Roger calling. "We'll talk more later. As of now this stays between us. Seriously. Thank you guys."
"Of course." Marjorie said, watching her walk out the front door.
"Never in a million years would I have thought that would happen." Autumn said.
"Same." Reece and Marjorie said at the same time.
"That means we could most definitely pull this takeover off." Marjorie added.
"Yeah. We just have to have Siobhan's back because God knows what our father will do to her." Reece shuddered.
"Well, I best be going before I get too drunk." Autumn said. "Bye Marjorie, big brother."
"Bye my love." Marjorie smiled.

The two watched Autumn walk out the front door and pull out of the driveway.

"Reece you okay?" Marjorie looked over at him, placing a hand on his back.
"I'm fine. It just makes me sick to think about men treating women like that. More specifically my dad." Reece replied, letting out a sigh.
"I know my love. Hopefully we can put an end to this soon." Marjorie said, placing a kiss on the side of his head.
"I'm surprised you held her hand. Especially after the way she's treated all of us." Reece said.
"Well, I had to. When I was going through it when I was younger, I had no one offer that. I wasn't as cruel as Siobhan, but still. I had no comfort. It was the least I could do." Marjorie smiled.
"You have such a huge heart." Reece said, moving closer to Marjorie and laying his head on her chest.

Marjorie smiled as she put her arm around Reece. They laid there for what felt like an eternity until Marjorie got up.

"It just makes me so mad." Marjorie said, breaking the silence and walking to the kitchen.
"I know." Reece sighed, getting up to follow her.
"Like I was once in a controlling relationship. I know how that shit works. I think if I never left, it would've gotten physical." Marjorie added, resting her hands on the counter.

Reece looked at her in disbelief. He knew she's had bad relationships before, but she never went into full detail. He questioned if this was her actually telling Reece or the rose talking.

"You were?" Reece questioned, moving closer to Marjorie.
"I was, yeah. I thought that was what real love was like. That was the standard until I met you. And I know, I was 18, but still. Fresh-adult me thought being treated like that was okay." Marjorie sighed, putting her head in her hands.

Reece wrapped his arms around Marjorie and kissed her head.

"I'm so sorry gorgeous. I had no idea." Reece said, rubbing Marjorie's back.
"It's fine. I'm with an excellent man who treats me like a queen." Marjorie lifted her head up and smiled. "I just hate seeing other women go through stuff like that."
"Me too, babe." Reece said, kissing her head again.
