"That's fine, my love. I'm on my way." Marjorie said, hanging up her phone and going to grab her keys.
"Where are you going?" Reece asked, pretending like he wasn't eavesdropping on Marjorie's phone call.
"I'm going to get Carly. She's upset and her mom is working the graveyard shift. She doesn't want to be alone." Marjorie said, turning to face Reece.
"I'll come with." Reece said, planting a kiss on the side of Marjorie's head.

They both get in the car, Marjorie driving. You already know she made him listen to Taylor Swift.

"Reece?" Marjorie said, looking over at her boyfriend in the passenger seat.
"Yes, gorgeous?" Reece replied.
"My niece, Aurora, her birthday party is tomorrow. Will you go with me? She's turning four. I have to be there because according to her mom, I'm her most favorite person in the whole entire world." Marjorie asked, laughing.
"Of course. I didn't know you had siblings." Reece replied, watching Marjorie drive.
"Well I don't. Her mom is one of my best friends, and her kids call me 'Auntie Marge'." Marjorie replied, looking over at Reece for a split second, before turning down Carly's street.
"That's cute. I'm calling you Marge from now on" Reece replied, winking.

Marjorie playfully smacked his chest, laughing. She pulled into the driveway of Carly's house and got out of the car. Carly was already sitting outside on the steps with her things, patiently waiting.

"Thank you for coming Marjorie. It sounds silly but I just don't want to be alone." Carly said, walking up to Marjorie and giving her a hug.
"It's no problem my love. Anytime." Marjorie replied, hugging her back and placing a kiss on her head.

The two just stood there for a few minutes, Marjorie rubbing Carly's back and talking to her. Reece was just watching from the inside of Marjorie's car, loving the bond they had.

"Hey kiddo." Reece said to Carly, as Carly climbed in the back of the car.
"Hi Reece!" Carly replied. Her mood instantly changed.

They all went to Marjorie and Reece's house, Marjorie and Carly belting to Taylor Swift in the car. Reece was trying to hide the fact that he loved Taylor too. He knew Marjorie would start freaking out about him becoming obsessed with Taylor.

"Right my love, go in and put your stuff in the guest bedroom. Reece and I will be right there." Marjorie said to Carly, as she pulled in the driveway.
"Okay!" Carly replied, getting out of the car and walking up to the house.
"Marjorie." Reece said, putting his hand on her thigh.
"Yeah?" Marjorie replied.
"I love you. You have such a big heart." Reece said, reaching over the console and planting a kiss on Marjorie's lips.
"Well, I see Carly as my own kid. And I know you do too. I see a little bit of me in her, and sometimes I just want to protect her from this harsh world. And I know she's 17, but that can't and won't stop me from trying to protect her." Marjorie replied, looking over at Reece, her eyes starting to get misty.
"I know. I want to protect her from all of the bad things that this world brings. Autumn and I already have a deal that if her future significant other treats her like shit, we are going after them." Reece laughed.
"Wow. You two bond over the weirdest things, most of it being violence or something to do with violence." Marjorie started laughing.

Marjorie and Reece got out of the car and walked up to the house, opening the door to find Carly already on the couch, sleeping. Marjorie walked up and sat next to her, getting under the covers as well. Carly turned around and landed in Marjorie's arms. Marjorie just held her tight, playing with her hair. Reece was still standing in the doorway, watching the love of his life sit with his 'work-daughter.' Reece finally walked over to them, kissing both of their foreheads.

"I'll go get takeout." Reece whispered.
"Thank you my love." Marjorie whispered back, a huge smile across her face.
