Taylor slammed the door behind her, her heart pounding from the intensity of the argument. She couldn't stay in the apartment any longer; she needed to get away, clear her head, and talk to someone who might understand the complexities of her relationship with Travis. After a moment's hesitation, she decided to visit Travis's mom, Donna. Donna had always been kind and welcoming to her, and Taylor hoped she could offer some perspective.

She drove to Donna's house, the familiar route offering a small sense of comfort amid her turmoil. When she arrived, Donna greeted her at the door with a warm smile that quickly turned to concern when she saw Taylor's tear-streaked face.

"Taylor, sweetheart, come in. What's wrong?" Donna asked, ushering her inside.

Taylor took a deep breath, trying to steady her voice. "It's Travis. We had a big fight, and I just... I didn't know where else to go."

Donna guided Taylor to the living room and sat beside her on the couch. "Tell me what happened."

"It started over something stupid," Taylor began, her voice shaking. "He accused me of not caring about his work stress, and I said he never listens to me anymore. We both said some things we didn't mean, and it just escalated from there."

Donna listened carefully, her expression empathetic. "I'm so sorry you're going through this, Taylor. I know Travis can be stubborn, but he cares about you deeply. Sometimes, stress makes us say things we don't mean."

Taylor nodded, wiping her tears. "I know he's under a lot of pressure at work, but it feels like we're drifting apart. I don't know how to fix it."

Donna reached out and squeezed Taylor's hand. "Communication is key, honey. When both of you are calmer, try to have an honest conversation about how you're feeling. Sometimes, we forget to really listen to each other when we're caught up in our own frustrations."

"I want to," Taylor said softly. "I just don't know if he'll be willing to talk."

"Travis can be stubborn, but he loves you," Donna reassured her. "Give him some time to cool down, and then approach him with an open heart. And remember, it's okay to seek help from a counselor if you need it. Relationships take work, but they're worth it."

Taylor felt a sense of relief wash over her. "Thank you, Donna. I really needed to hear that."

"Anytime, Taylor. You're part of our family, and I'm always here for you," Donna said, giving her a comforting hug. "Now, how about some tea? It always helps me think more clearly."

Taylor smiled, grateful for Donna's support. "Tea sounds perfect."

This is a bit short sorry!
