It was a rainy afternoon when Taylor began to feel the familiar discomfort of her period. She was lounging on the couch, wrapped in a blanket but still feeling uneasy. Travis, who had just come back from running some errands, noticed the change in her mood immediately.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" he asked softly, setting his bags down and moving to sit beside her. Taylor managed a weak smile and shrugged, but it was clear she wasn't at her best.
Without needing further explanation, Travis set to work. First, he made a quick trip to the kitchen to brew a pot of her favorite herbal tea, the kind that helped soothe cramps. As the tea steeped, he rummaged through the pantry for her favorite snacks, opting for chocolate and some comforting crackers.
When he returned, he had everything perfectly arranged on a tray: the steaming cup of tea, a small bowl of chocolate, and a few crackers. He handed it to Taylor with a gentle smile. "Thought you might need these," he said, settling back down next to her.
Taylor took a sip of the tea and felt the warmth spread through her, a soothing balm to her discomfort. She leaned into Travis, who wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice tinged with gratitude.
Travis then surprised her with a warm water bottle, expertly heated just right. He tucked it under the blanket next to her, positioning it to provide the most relief. "I know it's not much, but I hope it helps," he said, giving her a reassuring squeeze.
Taylor felt a wave of affection and relief wash over her. Travis's thoughtfulness extended beyond just physical comfort; he began recounting funny stories and moments from their recent rehearsals and travels, his aim to distract her from the discomfort. His voice was soothing, his humor genuine, and his presence incredibly comforting.
As the afternoon turned into evening, Travis suggested a movie marathon, knowing how much Taylor enjoyed losing herself in a good film. They settled down on the couch, Travis ensuring Taylor had everything she needed within arm's reach. The room was filled with the soft glow of the TV and the occasional flicker of candlelight, creating a peaceful and cozy atmosphere.
Throughout the movie marathon, Travis was attentive, checking in frequently to make sure Taylor was comfortable and had enough snacks and tea. He even brought out a cozy pair of fuzzy socks he knew she loved. Every now and then, he would gently ask if she needed anything, his concern evident in his every action.
As the final movie credits rolled, Taylor looked up at Travis with a soft smile. "You've really made today so much better," she said, her eyes reflecting the warmth she felt inside. "Thank you for being so caring and understanding."
Travis leaned in and kissed her forehead, his smile tender. "It's easy when you're someone so special to me," he replied. "I just want you to feel as comfortable and loved as possible."
They spent the rest of the evening in quiet contentment, the storm outside a distant backdrop to their cozy retreat. Taylor felt grateful not only for the physical relief but for the emotional support that Travis provided, making even a challenging day feel warm and comforting through his love and care.
