Travis Kelce squinted against the harsh glare of the hospital lights, his cheeks puffed up like a chipmunk's. The aftereffects of the anesthesia made his head feel like it was stuffed with cotton, and the world swam slightly as he tried to focus on the familiar figure beside him.

Taylor Swift sat in the chair next to the hospital bed, her hand gently resting on his. She looked ethereal, as always, but there was an added softness in her gaze today. Concern mixed with amusement played across her features.

"How are you feeling, big guy?" she asked, her voice a soothing melody in the sterile room.

Travis attempted to speak, but the cotton gauze in his mouth garbled his words. "I fee 'ike a ba'oom," he managed, his brows knitting in confusion at his own voice.

Taylor laughed, a light, tinkling sound that eased some of the tension in his chest. "Well, you kind of look like one too," she teased gently, brushing a stray lock of hair from his forehead.

He tried to pout, but it was hard to do anything with his mouth full of gauze and his mind foggy from the drugs. Instead, he settled for giving her a plaintive look, which only made her laugh more.

"Don't worry, Travis. You'll be back to your usual charming self in no time," she assured him, squeezing his hand. "Until then, I get to take care of you."

A warm, fuzzy feeling spread through him at her words. Despite the discomfort, he couldn't help but feel lucky. Here was Taylor Swift, pop sensation and his incredible girlfriend, taking time out of her busy schedule just to sit with him while he recovered from a minor surgery.

He attempted to grin at her, though it probably looked more like a grimace. "I wuv you," he mumbled, his words slurring together.

Taylor's eyes softened even more, and she leaned in to kiss his forehead. "I love you too, Travis," she whispered, her lips lingering against his skin. "Now, let's get you home so you can rest, okay?"

With her help, he managed to sit up and swing his legs over the side of the bed. The room tilted slightly, but Taylor's steady presence anchored him. She wrapped an arm around his waist, supporting him as they made their way out of the hospital.

As they stepped into the cool evening air, Travis felt a wave of relief wash over him. The worst was over, and now he had Taylor by his side to help him through the rest. He might not be able to speak clearly or eat solid food for a while, but as long as she was with him, he knew everything would be alright.

Back at his apartment, Taylor settled him onto the couch and fluffed a pillow behind his head. She disappeared into the kitchen and returned with a bowl of soup, the aroma making his stomach grumble.

"Here, let me help you," she said, sitting beside him and carefully spooning the warm broth into his mouth.

As he swallowed the comforting liquid, Travis felt a sense of peace settle over him. He might be in pain and a bit loopy from the drugs, but with Taylor here, everything seemed brighter. He closed his eyes, letting her soft humming and the rhythmic motions of her hand lull him into a comfortable doze.

In that moment, he realized that no matter what challenges life threw at him, as long as he had Taylor by his side, he could face anything.
