POV: Yohi
I took off my hooded cloak and climbed onto the stage under Oliver's astonished gaze and some of the townspeople's... no, running away from problems was not an option, no matter how hard it was! For Maika, for Oliver, for the people who had become my family... for myself... I want to change, I can't live like this anymore!
— Hio, you came! — Oliver exclaimed happily, coming up to me and hugging me tightly, causing me to blush because public displays of affection were not very common for me. And indeed, people did laugh a bit at such tenderness from Oli, so my embarrassment was quite justified, — I'm so glad! So... then... then Hio, who also caused all this trouble, will also apologize to you today!
I lowered my gaze to the ground, feeling the pressure of the townspeople's expectations...
— First, we would like to tell you what made us this way... maybe you will see yourselves in us, understand us! And I will start! Our past is something we are ashamed of, so this will be equivalent... this time we will tell you what we hide! — the boy said more enthusiastically, finally letting go of me.
And so it began... perhaps this moment for me was as terrifying as when Oliver and I were "executed"... I definitely prefer never to repeat my mistakes, just to avoid going through all this again.
— In a beautiful town located on a plateau, a young boy was born one day. — Oliver began his story loudly, making me cringe at the thought that people were about to learn my whole story, about how useless and worthless I was even in my parents' eyes, — Unfortunately, not all children are born out of desire, and our hero — Hio, was exactly one of those who were unwanted, a child whose arrival was unprepared for! The only thing that pleased the parents was the appearance of their son; he was as beautiful as a prince, both when he was very young and when he grew up. All his life, Yohi received no attention to his person, none of his talents were noticed by his parents or by other townspeople, only his appearance — that's what everyone was interested in! No matter how hard he tried to attract his parents' attention — it was all in vain! He tried to reveal their dirty secrets to get their attention, but for this, he only received shouts in his direction, curses, insults... and then he thought, "This attracted attention, but I was scolded for telling the truth. What if I start saying something similar, but untrue?" And he gave in to his thought, starting to gossip about things that weren't real but were interesting, things that attracted attention! When he was telling this gossip, he manipulated so cleverly that even the victims of his gossip sometimes didn't realize "is he lying?", which made their anger disappear, because they became confused and didn't know what to accuse the boy of! The rumors he spread caught people's interest, evoked emotions! Some were ashamed of these rumors, for some, they literally ruined their entire reputation, and Yohi felt he was controlling people's lives; he finally felt he had some meaning in this life, that he could do something! And he kept gossiping, even when finding interesting stories that were true, he didn't tell them, because truth was associated only with shouts, with hatred! Thus his life continued, he was happy, gossiping about things he shouldn't and receiving the attention he craved... but one day in a bar, he crossed paths with someone who was the opposite, but so similar to him...
