The all-white costume clung to his body in ways that she couldn't have imagined. She had never seen a man look like that, so ridiculously attractive without being too bulky. The inverted V of his torso was inviting her to look, the muscles of his arms and legs apparent as he skated on the ice, his movements completely fluid. She had never seen anything like it.
It was a beautiful thing.
As his music started, Yae closed her eyes for a moment and allowed herself to be consumed by the feeling he was trying to convey through the melody and the movements of his body.
There was no denying that it was the same thing she had felt before and it made her shiver all the way down to her bones.
She opened her eyes just in time to see him jump high in the air, twirling in mid-air for what felt like an eternity before landing with grace. It was breathtakingly beautiful, he was so elegant and precise in his movements and it didn't even seem real. No one was capable of things like that.
It wasn't hard to realize that he had been perfecting this art since he was a kid. There was a whole life of practice behind those movements and it was hard not to feel awed by them.
As the song went on, she found herself getting more and more tense. She didn't know what it was about this program that made her want to scream for him to jump higher and do more. It wasn't like she had ever seen figure skating before, but there was something so captivating in the way he moved and the way the music seemed to echo through his actions.
She could see how he felt it all and how his movements tried to convey all of the emotions that came from it.
In a way, he was kind of like an actor.
Yaeko felt her heart clench when he stopped moving for a few seconds, the music growing more intense as he looked at the ground. She knew this feeling, she had lived it more than she could count. The desperation of a situation that was so painful that you could only scream in silence.
The intense feelings only contrasted with the sweat covering his body, deliciously trailing across his skin. The muscles that she could see moving under the fabric, his abs contracting in a way that made her want to touch him.
Yae felt herself getting more and more flustered as he finished his program. He had been so beautiful and so captivating that she just wanted to see him again and again.
Her thoughts were completely consumed by him and by how she had been able to enjoy the show.
It was something that she wouldn't forget for a long time and as she got up, she realized that her legs were shaky from the intensity of the emotions that had coursed through her veins.
It was strange in a way, she couldn't remember the last time that she had felt something like that. It wasn't even possible to explain it, as if all of her emotions had been stirred up in some way. She wasn't even sure if it was the show itself or if it was all because of him.
Her thoughts were consumed by his presence and how she wanted to see him again. Even more than the times before, when she had thought about how he looked. She was now thinking of the way he moved, of how he had seemed to embody the song. It was fascinating to her and as she got up, Yaeko found herself wanting to learn more about it.
It wasn't something that she had expected, but there was a strange curiosity that had suddenly taken over her.
Yaeko watched the rest of the show with the same awe, loving each skater and the respective group numbers that were presented. Even when he stepped on the ice again to do another program, she realized how different this one was, conveying a completely different message that was as interesting as the one before. She liked both sides of him, the one who was more focused on the entertainment and the other, completely willing to show his every emotion.
She was completely lost in the show that was happening in front of her eyes, unaware of the time passing by and only realizing it when the show finally came to an end. Her breath was heavy and her face was flushed, she could feel it all running through her body.
As she looked at the credits, Yaeko felt a pang in her chest. It was only then that she realized what she had just watched and what was now happening inside of her body. That man... he made her feel things that she had been suppressing for years and now, everything seemed to be coming back all at once.
Maybe she would be able to see him again, even if it was on the TV. The show had been fun and she had enjoyed it, she wouldn't have a problem enjoying it again.
As she got up, Yaeko felt the heat that she could feel in her face. She had been so captivated by him that she was starting to feel flustered in a way that was kind of embarrassing.
Still, it was a good kind of embarrassment, one that came from the thrill of learning something new and meeting someone interesting.
In a way, it made her feel young again. It made her feel like the girl she had been before she met her husband before all of this happened to her.
It was a strange thing, but Yae found herself hoping for that.
Hoping that she could go back to feeling something like that again. She hadn't realized how much she missed the simple things in life. The things that she used to do, the things that made her happy.
Even if it was something as stupid as watching a show of figure skating, she could see herself enjoying it. She would do it again if it meant that she could feel this way again, so alive and captivated by something.
She could only hope to have that chance.
