Waking up with the person you love by your side is always a special feeling, one particularly better when it's the first time it happens.

Yaeko was the first to come to her senses on that special morning and her eyes were immediately on him and his messy hair.

It was overwhelming to see him right there by her side, looking far better than he had the right to look.

His peaceful slumber allowed her to watch him in his sleep, the peaceful expression on his face, the reassurance that everything was ok.

They would be ok.

Every moment with Yuzuru was precious and she knew that very well. No matter the decision of the Agency, it was unlikely that they would be able to repeat this for a long time until the case was settled.

The trials and everything in between that she would probably have to endure weren't supposed to be by his side, no matter how much she wanted that.

Having this night was already more than she could have ever asked for but it was also impossible to wish for it to end.

Seeing him wake up in a cute drowsy state made her smile. He was truly special in her heart, no matter what happened.

"Good morning" she heard in a raspy and sexy voice that made her want to kiss him senseless.

"Good morning, sexy."

A smirk quickly settled on his face and before she knew it, Yuzuru was on top of her body, a mischievous expression on his face.

"I'm not the sexy one"

"I care to disagree."

His fingers traced her skin lightly, revering everywhere he touched and admiring each spot of ink that lay there.

It was almost as if he was admiring every little bit of her. For some kind of reason, feeling so revered made her warm and fuzzy. It was an unheard-of feeling for her and it showed.

His face got closer and from the moment she was finally within reach, they both closed the distance. His lips felt even softer than she remembered and the mere pittle touches would be enough to rile her up without much of a challenge.

Hadn't it been for the knock and the door and subsequent interruption from Agent Miura, it was pretty much certain that they would have ended up in the exact same position as the previous day.

"Good morning, I trust you both slept okay?"

The Agent didn't waste any time as she went inside, fully taking in the sight of them on the bed. To all of her credit, she never said anything but it didn't mean that Yae didn't feel judged.

It was part of this journey she was soon embarking on and accepting.

"We did, thank you for asking."

Once they were all seated, Yae finally relaxed slightly. It was time to decide what they would do from that moment forward, whatever that meant.

"So... We have some decisions to make."

"Yes, certainly"

"I spoke to my team last night to decide what would be best. You're still available to testify in court, right?"

"I don't want to but I know it's the only way we can get them behind bars. I doubt that the proof I gathered would be enough by itself."

Yaeko could feel his eyes burning into her. They hadn't gotten the chance to really discuss or even talk about what she had done. Yuzuru didn't know half of the story or just how long it had been in the works

"We would have to make it work if you weren't willing."

"Yes, but we all know that if they manage to get out of this in freedom, I won't last a day alive."

It was a harsh reality that she chose to accept. The Yakuza would always come for her if she didn't manage to tear down this clan.

Maybe it was all madness because she was just one woman against one of the biggest Yakuza clans in the country. Then again, she wasn't just any woman.

The amount of things she had seen in the past years was too valuable to ignore. There was a reason why Yaeko was treated like a VIP in the PSIA from the very start. She was effectively their best chance to get them.

It was almost crazy to think that they trusted so much knowledge on someone but Yaeko couldn't judge them. The Yakuza were convinced that the feat they instilled in most people would be more than enough to make them shut up for life.

On most women, their control was so powerful that they would brainwash them into their perfect obedient wives but not with her.

Throughout those years, Yaeko always kept her head on her shoulders, she was always trying to get out of there and well, in the end, all she needed was the right motivation.

Looking at Yuzu now, she knew it was the right call.

"I should have known that you're far smarter than you look" the agent said with a smile "Let's make sure to bring them down and give you a life worth living."

That was all she wanted to hear, no matter what really happened after it.

"So, what's the plan?"

Yae was expecting every single word that left the agent, but it was still a pain to hear it out loud.

"We need you to go into witness protection, which would entail that no one from your current life can know your whereabouts."

Looking at Yuzuru, she knew exactly what he was thinking.

They were about to be apart once again.
