The birth of his son was without a doubt, the breaking point for Yuzuru.

There was no way he could allow this to keep going indefinitely. He couldn't just accept a reality where the love of his life wasn't able to be by his side. At that point, he was willing to go through anything, move countries, get into politics, even speak with the damn emperor if he was allowed.

Truthfully, the desperation was so high that he couldn't care a single bit about social norms or expectations of a man of his status. He had endured years of torture by the media, if he could now at least get some kind of advantage, he would take it, regardless of whether or not that was acceptable.

Just thinking about it, he remembered a very important detail... His family didn't know.

His mom had asked him multiple times what was going on. She had been able to read his expressions and seeing him sulk all the time was already a good sign that he was silently suffering for some kind of reason.

Now his son was already in this world and he had to tell them, whether he wanted it or not.

It wasn't as if he didn't think they wouldn't take it well, it was just a lot to assimilate, a lot to take in.

Well, he did have to tell them that he was having a child with a married woman, but that was a whole drama on its own.

Speaking with Agent Miura, the man had openly told him that there wasn't much hope that Yuzu could do anything.

If he was being honest, even for his usually innocent and true-to-morals self, the thought of hiring a killer to wipe that man off earth had already crossed his mind.
Obviously, this was all a mere manifestation of his frustrations and something he could never do, but it was still curious that the idea crossed his mind on more than one occasion.

The one thing he knew was that there had to be a way. He couldn't be apart from his family, and that's exactly what Yaeko was to him.

Before he could do anything or even overthink all of the possibilities of bringing a certain Yakuza led behind bars, Yuzu had to deal with his parents.

Telling his mom that he was going over for lunch on a random Sunday wasn't exactly surprising. He went over quite often, especially on weekends and would take full advantage of the intensive meal prep that his mother would provide.

This time, however, his presence wasn't a coincidence.

He might have considered every possible option on how it was best to tell them but in the end, it was a matter of finding the courage to allow the words to leave his mouth.

Sure enough, from the moment he entered his childhood home in a nervous mess, his mom eyed him weirdly.

"What's going on?"

He should have known that she would see right through him. With so many years doing this, his mom was pretty much a pro at detecting his shifts in mood.

"There's something I have to tell you."

"What trouble did you get yourself into this time?"

For all that was worth, his mom supposedly didn't know about his presence in the trial or the inner knowledge of a case that had been known across the whole country. Yuzu had somehow successfully sneaked in and out of it.

Well, maybe if his mom had been aware of that already, things would have been easier to explain.

"What makes you think I'm in trouble?"

Using humor to escape his pains was now a signature move of his, and one that didn't work on his mom.

"You have that guilty expression on your face and you've been sad for months."

He didn't need any more confirmation of just how aware she had been.

"Yeah."

"So? What is it?"

"It's probably best if I tell Dad at the same time. It's a long story."

His mom didn't waste a second.

"Hidetoshi! Come here for a second."

There were a few things in the Hanyu household that never changed, from the unconditional dedication to their family to the mandatory hurry of any male when Yumi Hanyu called. She was truly the boss of the home.
His father ran downstairs the moment Yumi's voice echoed in the halls.

"You called?"

"Your son says he needs to tell us something. He's somehow in trouble."

The shock on his father's expression was almost hilarious. His parents were so different from one another that it was hard to believe that they brought two kids into the world together.

"Trouble?"

That would be the moment that the famous demon teacher showed his claws. Yuzu had heard so much fear of his dad from other students that he barely believed him to be the same man.

"Yeah... You see..."

His nerves were so clearly evident that his mom just told him to go get a seat and served him tea.

"You know that whatever's going on, we will be by your side and helping out in anything we can."

"I'm just not sure if you'll be able to understand my side of this. I've hidden it for a while but it seems ridiculous to it now and if I'm being honest, it's not something I have the right to hide from you.."

"Honey, you're our child. If we were unable to understand you, then maybe no one else in the world would.

Just like he had imagined so many times, Yuzuru just decided to rip the band-aid off and say it all as fast as possible.

"You see... I... I have a son."
