LAUREN POV

Life has been a fucking rollercoaster lately. My dad was able to catch a flight down here with Alex, so they should be arriving any minute now. I wanted both of them down here because I miss them, and I know my dad's health is declining.

He was adamant at first, but we both knew it was for the best. California will always be his home, but I am happy that I have the opportunity to care for him while he's here, and huge thanks to Liv for also helping as well.

"Hey Lolo, is he here yet? I've missed your pops." Olivia asks as our Facetime call connects.

"Yes, he should be here any minute, oh, I forgot to tell you...he's bringing Alex as well," I tell her as her face lights up.

"WHAT! Looks like I have to call in sick for work. Part of me wants to be mad that you didn't tell me he was coming, but the other part liked the surprise, so I'm conflicted." She tells me as we laugh.

"Girl no, you better go to work

"Girl no, you better go to work. How about we all go to dinner later?" I ask her as she checks her schedule.

"Hmmm...I should be able to fit you guys in...it's crazy around here, but anything for my nephew and your pops." She tells me as I smile.

We talked slightly more until we ended our call. Words cannot explain how grateful I am for this girl. Our connection continues to grow, and I wouldn't change it for the world. She's one of the realest people you'll ever meet. I hope that she gets everything she wishes for...including Spencer. Now, I need to go get my dad and son.

JEROME POV

I know Lauren's dad and Alex are in town, and I am so happy that she asked me to help. I know we left off on a bad foot, but we've been trying to mend fences, and I am starting to consider marriage.

I know I was so against it, but Spencer brought it to my attention. I realized that if I desperately wanted something and wanted to go after it, I should do it. It's hilarious since he never takes his advice.

"Hey man, again, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it." I tell him as we enter the locker room.
