Spencer and Olivia are childhood best friends and they did everything together. High school, prom, dating, and sex. After college, Liv moves to Los Angeles while Spencer stays in Texas for football and family.
When Liv returns to Texas to do an ass...
After explaining what happened to Lauren's parents, they hugged me and told me that this wasn't my fault, and that was all that I needed to hear to break out in tears. I felt so guilty about this whole situation, and now I feel a slight weight lifted off my shoulder.
The ride home was quiet. Spencer and I were taking in the information we just received: We're going to be parents. It's going to be a new normal for us. I mean, planning this wedding and taking Alex under our wing—it's just so stressful.
"I think we should elope," Spencer states as we stop at a red light.
"I'm not against it. I have thought about it, and I feel like it would relieve some stress," I tell him as the light turns green.
We both want a big wedding, but with everything that happened, putting it off and eloping seems like the best idea. We would still have some of our family there, but celebration-wise, all I need is right here.
"So let's do it, this weekend on the beach." He says as I look over at him and nod.

It might seem like we're taking a risk, but in the end, I think this will help both of us. Plus, this will give us some insight into parenthood, we did say we wanted kids. I just never thought I would be caring for my best friend's son...because she's not here.
SPENCER POV
Driving home opened up a door for important conversations. Painful ones, but others that we both needed. We needed it to help us better understand each other and what we were feeling. Yes, marriage talk was great but connecting with your partner is another.
"Thank you for just being there and listening to me. I know I am not the easiest person," Olivia states as we round the corner to our gated community.
"I will always be here as a listening ear. I don't care if you're stubborn, mean, angry, or whatever. I will be here, not just as your friend but as your husband and confidant." I tell her as the gate opens.
"Ugh, why are you so amazing?" Olivia asks as I park and turn my head towards her.
