Love and Pain

XIII.

SPENCER POV 

Now that everyone has eaten and talked, it's time for our big announcement. I hope all goes well, especially with Olivia because I cannot imagine how she feels since the miscarriage. I hope everyone is happy for us, and I'm glad they can celebrate this moment with us. 

"I'm pretty sure all of you are wondering what the surprise is...and why we brought you here. I just wanted to say thank you to every one of you for taking time out of your schedule to spend time with us. Kim, do you want to do the honors?" I ask her as she smiles.

"Yes, I do. First off, I want to thank you all for coming, I know this takes time out of everyone's schedule, so being here shows a lot. I might not know you all as well as I should, but you're all family to me if Spencer cares about you. Now, without further ado, I guess we should tell you all why we're here." She says as she holds my hand and grabs the ultrasound from her purse. 

"WE'RE PREGNANT!" She says as everyone stares at the photo. 

"CONGRATULATIONS!" Everyone says as they get up and hug Kim. I look over at Olivia and I can see that she's hurting, and I look over at my mom who looks like she wants to kill me. 

She looks at me from over the table and I shake my head. She knows Kim and I have been struggling with our engagement and relationship in general, so hearing news like this...wasn't her cup of tea. She comes around and hugs me while whispering something into my ear. 

"You made your bed, now you have to lie in it." She tells me as I look at her. 

Did I fuck up? Was I wrong for choosing Kim to be my wife? I can see how everyone is looking, and it's not a pleasant look. Once everyone has finished their rounds of hugging, we all make our way back to our seats, but as that's happening, I see Olivia grab her things and go.
