Finally, I returned to the apartment with 30 minutes to spare. The restaurant isn't far and we all know when black people say 6...it's really 6:15 or 6:30, so I'm good on time. As I open the door, I hear faint noises coming from the bedroom.
Darnell told me he was out at the gym, so it couldn't be him. As I got closer, my deepest fear came true as I opened the door and saw him in bed with...Teara?!? This can't be happening right now...to me of all people.
"Darnell...how could you?" I yell at him as Teara gets off him.
"Olivia...I didn't think you'd be home this early. Babe, it's not what it looks like." He tells me as I get teary-eyed.

"What is it then? To me, it looks like you're in my bed fucking someone else...not just anybody, but Spencer's girlfriend." I tell him as he rolls his eyes.
"Jesus, Olivia, you're making it more than it needs to be. Look, it's been a wonderful few months together, but I miss my player ways...I miss sleeping around like I used to. Oh, Teara and I had a fling and when I saw her...it altered my thinking...I still love you though." He tells me as he tries to kiss me.
Why does this always happen? I genuinely thought that I had found someone who loved me for me, but I guess I was mistaken once again. Why do I always get my heart broken? Spencer first and now Darnell, maybe relationships aren't for me.
"You still love me...people don't cheat or hurt people that they love. It altered your thinking, what does that even mean? Did you ever really love me?" I ask him as Teara gathers her things and starts to leave...
"Oh and you, I will be telling Spencer of this discovery. He doesn't deserve someone who does him dirty. He's too kind and caring for that...so don't even think of going back to his place" I tell her as she rolls her eyes.
"Of course I loved you...the first few weeks we met. I'll be out of here before 7." He tells me as he walks out to walk Teara out.
There's no way that this is happening to me. All I want is a loving, truthful, and honest relationship. Is that hard to get? Maybe if I go to dinner, it'll get my mind off things...because I need it as well.
SPENCER POV
"Hey babe, you leaving?" Teara asks as she enters the house.
"Yeah, going to dinner with Jerry and some friends. Where you been?" I ask her as she shrugs her shoulders.
"I was hanging out with the girls, nothing too big." She tells me as we kiss and she heads to the bedroom.
