Wrath of Anger
Two weeks had passed since the incident, and Lev, Ashley, Patricia, and Sophie had divided their tasks for the investigation. Lev had decided to hire a top-notch private investigator, determined to uncover the truth. Meanwhile, Ken had grown increasingly suspicious of Vina, suspecting she had something to do with the incident involving Annie. Although he had no concrete evidence, the circumstantial clues were troubling enough to warrant a confrontation.
Ken dialed Vina's number, his anger simmering just below the surface. When she answered with a hesitant "Hello," he didn't bother with pleasantries.
"Where are you?" he demanded, his voice sharp and unyielding.
"I'm at my office," Vina replied, her voice trembling slightly.
I'm coming there. Just stay put," Ken ordered before hanging up abruptly.
Vina's anxiety spiked. She had been on edge since the accident, plagued by fear and guilt. She knew Ken was coming to confront her, and she felt unprepared for the onslaught of his anger.
Thirty minutes later, Ken arrived at Vina's office. He stormed in, slamming the door behind him with a force that made the room tremble. Vina flinched, her eyes wide with fear as she looked up at him.
"What did you do this time?" Ken barked, his voice a mix of anger and disappointment.
Vina shook her head frantically. "I didn't do anything! What are you talking about?"
Ken's eyes narrowed, his frustration boiling over. "The police have CCTV footage of you leaving the scene in a hurry. What were you doing there?"
Vina's mind raced, searching for an explanation, but she struggled to form coherent words. Seeing Ken so enraged, so unlike his usual self, unnerved her.
Who are you, Vina? I don't recognize you anymore," Ken said, his voice low and filled with sorrow. "If I find out you're the mastermind behind this, the little respect I have left for you will be gone. You will face the full extent of my anger, and not even your family will be able to protect you. You'll end up in jail. Just wait."
Vina continued to deny any involvement, her voice growing more desperate. "It's not me! You're crazy, Ken!"
Ken shook his head, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger and pity. "I hope for your sake that you're telling the truth, Vina. But if you're not, you'll wish you'd never crossed me."
With that, Ken turned and left the office, leaving Vina trembling and alone, consumed by fear and uncertainty.
Ken hired a private investigator to look into Vina and gather information about the incident. After finalizing those arrangements, he rushed to see Annie, his heart heavy with worry and hope. As he walked into her hospital room, he was greeted by an unexpected sight: Dr. Luke was gently removing the bandages from Annie's head, and she was sitting up in bed, looking much stronger than before.
Ken's breath caught in his throat, and his eyes welled up with tears. He had feared the worst, but seeing Annie's progress filled him with overwhelming relief.
Dr. Luke turned to Ken with a reassuring smile. "Annie is getting stronger now," he said. "She can talk and sit up with assistance. She can also start eating proper food, though it should be soft or in soup form for now. She no longer needs the feeding tube. I've already informed the chef to prepare her diet, including congee and other soft foods."
Ken felt a surge of gratitude. "Thank you, Dr. Luke," he said, his voice thick with emotion.
Annie looked at Dr. Luke, her eyes filled with appreciation. "Thank you, Dr. Luke," she echoed, her voice soft but clear.
