Heart fluttering

Annie glanced at her phone as it buzzed with Ken's message.

Ken: "Another long day at the site. How's your day going?"

Annie: "Busy as always! But it's all worth it. 😊"

She smiled, knowing that in a few hours, she would be on a flight to Jeju Island, ready to surprise Ken on their first anniversary. The past year had been a whirlwind of work and love, and despite the distance, they had managed to stay close through their daily messages and calls. Annie wanted to make this anniversary unforgettable.

Annie finished her last meeting and headed home to pack. She had carefully planned everything for weeks, ensuring that Ken would have no idea about her visit. She had booked the Presidential Suite at the Grand Hyatt Hotel JEJU , a space of ultimate luxury that promised to be the perfect backdrop for their special celebration.

As she boarded the plane, she texted Ken again.

Annie: "I might be late replying tonight. Need to finish some work stuff. Don't wait up. Love you!"

Ken, who was equally swamped with work at the Jeju Island site, replied quickly.

Ken: "Don't worry about it. Get some rest. Love you too! 😘"

Annie smiled, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. She landed night in Jeju and headed straight to the hotel. The Presidential Suite was even more breathtaking than she had imagined, with its panoramic views of the Jeju skyline and luxurious furnishings. The hotel staff had outdone themselves, decorating the suite with rose petals, candles, and a chilled bottle of champagne.

As she checked the final preparations, she thought about their journey together. Building the dream home for Mrs. Laude and Simon had been a massive project, one that had tested their limits but also brought them closer. Tonight, she wanted to celebrate not just their love but also their achievements and dreams.

The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm, golden hue over the construction site where Ken had been working tirelessly all day. He was wrapping up his tasks, organizing his tools, and mentally preparing for the long drive home. As he stepped outside, the sight of a sleek Tesla Uber parked at the entrance caught his eye. It wasn't unusual to see Ubers around, but something about this one made him pause.

The car door opened, and to his astonishment, Annie stepped out, her eyes searching for him. "Ken!" she called, her voice carrying a mixture of excitement and relief. She waved enthusiastically, a bright smile lighting up her face.

Ken's heart skipped a beat. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Annie, here? Without a second thought, he broke into a run, closing the distance between them in a matter of seconds. As he reached her, he enveloped her in a tight embrace, lifting her off the ground slightly. The world around them seemed to blur, leaving only the two of them in sharp focus.

Without hesitating, Ken pressed his lips to Annie's in a passionate kiss. The sensation was electric, sending waves of warmth and love coursing through him. Annie kissed him back with equal fervor, her arms wrapping around his neck as if she never wanted to let go.

In that moment, Ken felt something he'd never experienced before. His heart fluttered wildly, a sensation of pure joy and contentment washing over him. Annie's affection made him feel cherished, special, and above all, loved. For the first time, he felt like he was someone's priority, and it was a feeling he never wanted to lose.

When they finally broke apart, their foreheads rested against each other, both of them breathless but smiling. "I missed you so much," Ken whispered, his voice filled with emotion
