Ahsha
I smiled softly as my dad approached me. "Your Highness." "Dad." I hugged him. We hadn't spoken since the blow-up, so it was good to see him. "How are you?" "Not good I hurt my baby girl." He grabbed my hand. We went over to the private room and talked. "I'm not mad. She's your mate and you're supposed to protect her."
"Yes, but as your father, I'm supposed to protect you also and I didn't. I saw how your mom was acting and instead of dealing with her behavior, I tried to overcompensate by being more present for you. But once I was gone and forced to watch while being unable to do anything I saw how badly I messed up." As he spoke I sat quietly listening.
The thing was I didn't blame my dad. He wasn't perfect but the time we had together he was present, and I never felt unloved by him. Hell after he was gone although he wasn't physically there I still felt his presence. The issue I was facing was that my mom didn't like me. Whether those were her true feelings or not that's how it came across.
And her reason for why she was so distant sounded like bullshit to me. I sighed causing him to stop talking. "What are you thinking?" "That Mia simply didn't like me. I don't think she wanted daughters. She's not as bad with Nuri as she was with me but they're not close like she is to Liam. And if that is how she's feeling she should stand on that. Because her playing the hurt mother isn't gaining her any sympathy from me."
He looked at me for a moment. "She loves you." "Again I never said she didn't I said she doesn't like me. Which is fine but if that's the case she shouldn't expect anything from me. She wants to be an active parent now because it's beneficial to her and that's not going to fly. She will not be getting anything from me." I was 100 percent convinced she thought she was going to get the title Mother of the Queen or some type of royal privileges and that's just not happening.
"That's your choice but if she did try to work on the relationship would you be open to it." "Honestly?" I asked. He nodded his head. "No. I won't be disrespectful but that's it. She's your mate and I love and respect you, so I can extend that to her. I'm honestly not mad I just see things for what they are now. She doesn't like me, and I don't really like her. You prioritize her and I'm going to prioritize my immediate family. No hard feelings."
He was disappointed. He was a family man and to see his family so divided had to bother him. "There's a reason Fate paired you and Mom together, apart from birthing the Queen and Prince." I laughed softly. "It's time to figure out what that reason is." "Do you know why you're paired with yours?" I smiled at the thought.
"None of this has been confirmed so don't quote me on this. With Ares, he needed someone who willingly chose him and acknowledged him apart from his brothers. I try not to get to this point, but I would literally go to hell and back if anyone were to cross him and he knows that. He likes knowing I'm in his corner." My dad chuckled.
"Pablo I don't think he was ever meant to be just a being that lived within Malik, but I don't think he was supposed to be on his own like he had been. Similar to you he wants a family and I find it so cute how he is with his brothers, Marius, and Nasir. He's amazing." "And Malik?" I smiled.
"I think he was similar to Ares but in a different way. For him, he had two moods, King or an uninhibited demon that's it. You'd be surprised but when he's at home he's just normal. Cracking jokes, doing chores, cooking, and just being. He's just a normal man and I've never seen him smile so much and it's beautiful to see." "And this new one?" I laughed.
