Omniscient
"Excuse me?" Bastien questioned. "Neither of you will be allowed around our mate until further notice. If you need to speak to her, you'll have to go through one of us, and we'll get her the message." "You can't keep our daughter from us." Bastien and Mia backed up when they saw Ares's eyes turn black and Marius's eyes turn blue.
Nuri's words filled the air, leaving her parents stunned. "We know those words weren't hers, but they affected Ahsha regardless. She needs some space from you two and Nuri, as for Liam—If he wants to see her, you call one of us, and we'll get him, or Isaac can bring him. You, her, and your daughter, however, need to stay away from our mate." "I understand what Nuri said was bad, but she's a child. Ahsha is a—" Cyrus growled, silencing her.
"Go on, finish your sentence. I dare you." Mia hid behind Bastien but said nothing further. "She's our daughter. Whatever issue that's happened between the girls needs to be handled as a family." A humorless laugh left Ares's mouth. Again, Mia was saying he wasn't Ahsha's family, and again, he had to restrain himself.
"We are Ahsha's family, as well. That means we understand how much restraint it takes for her not to get rid of you. Especially when we all know how easily she could." "So you should be thankful that we love her because she is the only reason you're still breathing." Marius grabbed Ares's arm, holding him back.
"You're her parents, but that means nothing here. She's our responsibility now, and if either of you interferes again, I'll make sure it's the last time." Ares's threat was deliberate and unwavering, leaving no room for compromise. Suddenly, explosions rocked the place, and the smoke detectors began to blare.
"I'm a monster, remember?" He paused, his voice cold.
"The only difference now is that I'm Ahsha's monster. You hurt her. I hurt you. You mean nothing to me—understand?"
'Marius? Ares? Get your asses back here. Now!' Ahsha snapped, her voice trembling with barely contained worry and frustration, the urgency in her words sharp enough to cut through the tension. Marius's voice, though calm, carried an undeniable edge. "We'll come home when we're done, frumos." His words were firm and protective—he was determined to settle this shit now.
Bastien, his patience completely frayed, turned on Ares. His voice was thick with anger, almost desperate. "This is just a sibling fight, Ares! You, of all people, should understand that. You can't lock her away like she's some fragile doll, kept behind glass and guarded. She's not your possession!"
"This isn't about Nuri, and you damn well know it!" Ares snapped, his voice hard and edged with fury. "It's about you and your wife—and how you're both failing as parents. What's worse is that she thought, when she brought you back, she'd at least have one parent she could count on. But she doesn't. She built you up as some kind of goddamn father figure, Isaac too, and you're not even close to living up to the hype." He took a step closer, his eyes completely black once again, teetering on, snapping both their necks if they kept pushing him.
"Mia might be your mate, but Ahsha and Isaac are your children. And Ahsha?" Marius now cut spoke his disgust present. "Ahsha is our mate. Right now, our mate has hit her breaking point with the three of you. So now? You deal with us." Marius barked, his tone a growl that left no room for argument.
Ares felt him before he saw him—as the air itself had thickened with the weight of his presence. His muscles tensed, but he refused to acknowledge him. "You shouldn't be here," Ares growled, his voice cold, cutting through the air.
He didn't look at Imam; he didn't want to. Ahsha had probably sent him here to drag them back, to calm them down—and they weren't in the mood to be calmed.
