"I don't understand!" Mia called. "You are being evicted," Marius repeated. "You can't evict me. Ali and—" "When Ali moved here, it was under the guise of a position within the royal family. He used his connection to get the job. With what was supposed to be his role came this house and your cars. All the added perks were courtesy of you being our mate's mother." Malik spoke from where he leaned against the wall.

"The only reason you've stayed in this home thus far is because of Liam, Nuri, and Bastien." He added. Her eyes grew as she took in his words. "I want to speak to Ahsha and Isaac. You can't do this to me." "Who do you think the order came from?" I called as her head snapped toward me.

"It's fair to not want children. Some people don't, and that's their choice, but to have them anyway and mistreat them is inexcusable." "You know." She whispered. "We know." "Bastien told you?" I nodded my head. "I love my daughter. Raising two infants at the same time took a toll on me mentally. I thought it was best she went to a family that wanted and could raise her properly." "I could believe that if it weren't for Nuri. We have been with her for the last three weeks, and in that time, she's very seldom mentioned you. She spoke about her brothers, her sister, and occasionally Ali and Bastien. The man she's known for less than a year. So why is it that both your daughters seem distant from you while your sons don't?"

She closed her eyes. "Please don't do this to me." "We pulled your history." Ares spoke for the first time today. "Wha—" "We're powerful beings who can do a lot of things. One of those things is being able to look at your past. We can't change it, but we can see it." Ares chuckled.

"Malik and I did it for Ahsha so she could know us better, and after hearing Bastien's words, we took a stroll down memory lane. The story he gave us painted you out to be a fragile woman, and maybe to an extent you were, but what we saw. You're lucky to still be breathing." Ares's eyes changed, and the room grew thick.

"The things you said to her as a baby and a toddler were vile. The look of disgust you held when you looked at Nuri—you hate your daughters." He spoke, creeping closer to her. Marius, Malik, and I all kept a close eye on Ares.

"It wasn't just simply having more in common with your sons either. They tried to bond with you on a deeper level, and you pushed them away. A mother's love is one of the purest things on earth, and not receiving it can fuck with your head." This was a sensitive subject for Ares, given our upbringing, and to know Ahsha endured something similar had awakened something within him.

"I understand pregnancy and giving birth affects the mother in ways none of us could imagine. We don't judge you for that we judge you for forcing your daughters to earn your love when you so freely gave it to your sons. I judge you for hurting the woman I love then and now. For me, and I'm sure my brothers and Marius can agree. The only thing keeping the air flowing in your lungs is Ahsha being a good woman." He snapped, lunging at her. Marius and I both moved, grabbing him.

"Ares, she said not to kill her," Marius growled. "If you can't control yourself, got to wait outside." He snapped. The veins around Ares's eyes became prominent, and Mia cowered away. "You better enjoy every breath you take because there will come a day when I take it." He barked, jerking his arms from our hold and walking outside.

The door slammed shut behind him before we were looking at Mia. "Please help me. Just let me talk to Ahsha. I'm sorry for everything." She pleaded. "You've lost her favor. Which means you've lost your privileges. This house, your car, and life as you've known were privileges." I spoke. "But you needn't worry where you're going you won't need."
