AhshaA couple of days had passed since we found out the sex of the baby and today was the day that some of the baby furniture was arriving. I was currently sipping my tea as I watched Malik direct some of his workers as they moved in some of the baby furniture. He glanced my way and smiled. I returned the gesture before he turned back to his men. I turned back to my brother Isa who was holding Liam. "You two seem good," Isa said. "We are." I smiled. "Would you tell me if you weren't?" He asked. I sighed. "Of course, I would," I confirmed. I saw his eyes shift and knew Anansi was stirring. "We're good, honestly. Malik and even Ares have been amazing lately. They're kind and caring and so gentle with me—with us." I explained grabbing his arm. He looked at me tilting his head. He looked towards Malik to find him looking our way. I assume a look of concern was displayed on my face because Malik quickly joined. "Everything okay?" He asked. "Y—" "I don't know. I hear all these things you've done to my sister and now here you two are having a baby and getting married." Isa said. I sighed because Anansi had fully come forward. "Maybe you and I should talk," Malik said.
I looked between the two of them and before I could speak Isa was standing up heading outside. "Malik—" "It's okay, habitata. He's just worried about you and considering my past mistakes Ares and I owe him an apology also." Malik said. I looked at him. "Okay," I said with a nod. He kissed me softly. "Can you instruct the guys with the baby things?" He asked. "Yeah," I said. I grabbed Liam's hand before watching Malik join Isa outside. "This can either be very good or very bad," I mumbled to Liam. "Bad!" He yelled. "Exactly," I said.
Ares
I walked outside finding Isaac kneeling as he pets Abraham's head. He stood as he heard me approaching. He looked at me with dead eyes as I grew closer. "My sister told me what you did." He began. I nodded my head. "I understand," I said. "I clearly remember telling you that if you hurt my sister, you'd have to see me." He said. I strained at keeping my rage contained as he spoke to me. This had been the third time he had threatened me, and I was tired of the disrespect. I let him go on and on with his threats until he struck a nerve. "I swore to my parents that I would always look out for my sister. And the only reason I haven't touched you is because she loves. She is my twin. We are two sides of the same coin. Her love for you and her baby has blinded her from seeing facts." Isaac said. "And what facts are these?" I asked leaning against one of the posts. "You and Ares don't know how to have a mate. You don't hurt the person you love. I don't think either of you are capable of loving her the way she needs to be loved." He said.
"And who are you to make at assumption? You're hardly around. You barely call. You've only just started being present and you think you can make a claim about how I love my mate." I scoffed. "You know nothing." I snapped. "I know that if you hurt her again, I swear on your life that I will get her out." He said looking into my eyes. "I don't give a damn who you are. I will die before I allow my little sister to be abused by you or anyone." He said as the familiar golden rings that Ahsha has appeared in his eyes. I turned my head cracking my neck as he went to walk past me bumping my shoulder. I grabbed his arm stopping him. I sank my nails into his flesh hearing him hiss in pain. "Please forgive me because it appears you think you can speak to me without regard," I spoke calmly to him as I stared out into my backyard.
"You may be my love's brother but make no mistake I have no qualms about cutting out your tongue. Ahsha maybe you sister—your twin but she is mine. That child that is growing inside of her is mine. You say you will die for her." I said meeting his eyes. "I will burn this world to ashes before I allow you or anyone else to take either of them from me," I spoke calmly. "Let this be your first and very last warning. Do not disrespect me ever again. I won't hesitate to make sure you never see your sister again." I told him. I could hear Ahsha soft footsteps walking towards the backyard. I quickly pulled Isaac into a hug. "Smile, we wouldn't want to worry your sister," I whispered.
