Third Person

Sorcerers don't get to go on official missions by themselves until they graduate from Jujutsu Tech since they would rather not have children executed before they can reach their strongest.

What typically happens is that professional sorcerers take on apprentices or 'internships' to show them how missions should be performed.

In most cases, a grade one sorcerer is assigned the mission, and the curse is at most at the level of a low-grade one.

This ensures that there will be no difficulties in teaching the newer generation about Jujutsu sorcery.

Since the recent balance shift, something unexpected may have occurred. Unregistered special grades have been popping up all over Japan for the past twelve years.

This has made the Jujutsu society swiftly change protocol and send scouting teams to determine the official level before missions occur.

However, this has also led the higher-ups to understand the situation before the one assigned to the mission, making them a good way to send someone to execution by 'unexpected curse evolution' or 'improper assessment.'

These would be drastic measures and wouldn't often happen, especially with people who can be useful pawns in their stupid little game, not realizing the true one pulling the strings.

The higher-ups do everything they can to fulfill their own selfish desires. Even if it means the loss of the strongest sorcerer alive, they will rule that anyone should be exterminated if they try to help him get unsealed.

Jujutsu society is corrupt.

Satoru Gojo wanted to foster a new generation of sorcerers to surpass their predecessors.

Missions are corrupt but necessary for the survival of Jujutsu.

They are an essential part of a sorcerer's life, keeping non-sorcerers safe and unaware of the horrors around them.

Naohiro

I have been assigned my first mission: dealing with a grade-one curse in Sendai.

I've killed curses before in the punishment room in the clan compound, but I have never gone out into the field for real-world experience.

Since I was required to have a grade one sorcerer tag along with me, Jinichi was forced to go with me. I'm on my way to see him head out for the exorcism.

After walking to the Hei area of the compound, I knocked on the door.

...

...

*BOOM*

A massive fist goes straight through the door, and I sidestep it with a neutral look.

*Sigh* Dealing with him is annoying since he doesn't like me.

Shoving the door open, Jinichi looks at me and yells in my face. "Like hell, I'm going to be dragged around by you, punk!"

I look at him with a somewhat tired expression. "I know you don't like me. I don't like you. However, we have to work together for one mission. Once we exorcise the curse, we don't need to see each other again."

He glares and points at me. "Last time I worked with you, I was in a hospital for a week!"

Uh...yeah, he doesn't like me. "At least your head wasn't torn off."

That seems to piss him off even more. "HUH? Just because you are some prodigy, do you think I'll bring you around for an entire day!? I'm considering kicking your ass right now!"

I smile. He couldn't do anything to me anymore. "Before we head out, want a reminder of how you ended up in the hospital? I'll need a warm-up before exorcising the curse."

Before things escalate to a 'fight,' Naobito walks into the room.

(A/N - "The term fight is used very loosely here.")

Looking at me, he sighs before turning to Jinichi. "Look, I know you hate Naohiro, but he needs to get the experience from a grade-one sorcerer. The Hei doesn't currently have a leader. If you do this, I'll make you the head of the Hei...for now."

I'm sure Jinichi and I had the same thought: 'You're a grade one, do it yourself.'

After pondering momentarily, Jinichi decided: "DAMNIT, fine, but we do things my way. If you try pulling anything, I'll leave you behind."

Yeah, I'll cut your head off if you try leaving me behind. I'm finally at the point where people like Jinichi, Chojuro, and Ogi can't boss me around.

I already know enough about missions where I don't need Jinichi anymore. The only reason I'm going with him in the first place is because of the stupid higher-ups policy.

I've been thinking about going rogue since I could kill Ogi and possibly Jinichi if I feel like it. However, I would also be away from the higher-ups' policy, and I would have more freedom to deal with future threats.

The problem lies in Jujutsu society being turned against me.

It's just another one of the paths that I could choose later down the line.

I'm not strong enough to take on all of Jujutsu society right now, but if I keep growing at the same rate, only Gojo, Sukuna, and Kenjaku will be able to stand up to me.

I'm getting ahead of myself, but I can't help but be excited thinking about all the opportunities I will have. I'm so close to completing my domain.

After thinking about it for a while, I thought of Mahito gaining 'inspiration,' as he called it. It sounds ridiculous, but that might be what I'll need to finish it.

I am broken out of my thoughts when I see Jinichi stand up and walk out of the room, assuming I'll follow him.

I smile.

Hmm, I got a great idea! What if the higher-ups made a 'misjudgment' and the grade one curse turned into a special grade? It would be a shame if one of their precious grade one sorcerers would die.

I'll play along for now, Jinichi, but it won't be long before you get what Ogi will have. Who knows, I might even throw Chojuro in there, too.
