Silvester chews at him bottom lip, optics focused on the piece of paper containing the ten digit number. Once moving to Philadelphia he committed to going to therapy and had yet to miss a session.

Two days a week for a solid hour he opened up as best as he could, shedding light on his wrong doings and the raw feelings that resided deep within his being. He even touched up on the topic of Sapphire's passing which seemed to be the hardest thing to do for him. He had yet to forgive himself for all the pain he put her through from the drugs and abuse down to forcing her to terminate their unborn child. He had no right to make a decision that was left for her to decide, but his fear of his life changing forever due to a baby getting in the way promoted him to commit such an evil act. He was selfish and only cared about how he felt, something he had done for the majority of his life.

Now it was time for him to change his perspective and even though change was scary, it was a challenge that he was not going to back down from.

With the emit of a breath he unlocks his phone and glides his fingers along the screen until he's met with the sound of ringing. Breath caught in his throat, he begins to bounce his leg growing nervous at every ring that filled the kitchen of his home.

Now on the fourth ring he tucks his lips as his heart sinks. He soon straightens his posture from the soft yet stern voice he knew like the back of his hand.

"M-Mom?" Swallowing the saliva that had accumulated in his mouth, he stares down at his phone awaiting her response. "It's me, Silvester." He speaks once met with silence.

"What do you want from me and how did you get my number?" He grows silent as tears begin to form soon rolling down his light freckled cheeks. He tucks his bottom lip as he tries to control his emotions since he viewed them as a form of weakness, going out of his way to never shed a tear until now.

He missed his mother and hated that due to his transgressions she decided to cut off all contact with him. His therapist helped him touch up on the topic as to why he treated her the way he did and after taking a step back, looking at the full picture he realized that she didn't deserve the hell he put her through. She was the only person who had his back even when he lived a dangerous life that would only lead him to his grave sooner or later.

"I-I got it from-"

"I told you to ruin your life in peace, leave me out of the way you choose to live." He nods and looks around his kitchen unaware of what to say next. From the tone of her voice it was clear to see that she didn't want to be bothered let alone hold a conversation with him and that pained his heart because no matter how much hell he put her through, she always had time to speak to him.

"I know b-but I just w-wanted-." His words fall short as he leans back in his seat, afraid that she wouldn't accept his heart felt apology. After all; he had apologized more than once in the past only to turn around and continue with his reckless behavior. He quickly rids the tears that run down his cheeks and looks back at his phone. His bottom lip starts to quiver as he builds up the courage to apologize. "I'm sorry for every wrong thing I've ever done and said to you." More tears come forth and roll down his cheeks at a rapid rate, blurring his faculty of sight.
