The sounds of ticking and clicking fill Nadi's quiet bedroom as her fingertips glide along the keyboard, writing out her detailed think piece about the recent movie she had finished. It was her second one of the night and right before bed so she had to make her review short and simple even though her mind had an inventory of topics to discuss.
Her honey colored eyes quickly shift to her buzzing phone then back to her computer screen. She decided to ignore it since she knew that once she had answered her phone everything she wanted to type out would vanish from her mind.
Personally, if you were to ask me the movie gets a 7.5. I love the entire plot and the concept of fighting for your life in the depths of the ocean floor, surrounded by darkness while unknown and undiscovered sea creatures try to end you. I was left on the edge of my seat at one point buuuut, I feel like maybe they didn't have a big production budget for this movie. We really didn't get to see the monsters much and I know I would've been more scared if I did but Kristen Stewart delivered from start to finish, her acting is 10/10 outstanding!
She reads over her review, checking for any grammatical errors before posting it and logging out of her IMDb account for the night, now reaching for her phone. She unlocks it and goes to her call log, looking at the missed call from an unknown number. Normally she'd just block the number since whoever called didn't leave behind a voicemail which in eyes meant that the call wasn't important, right?
On the other hand, part of her was curious as to who was calling her late at night therefore, she calls them back. Picking at her chipped toenail polish while she patiently waits for them to pick up.
"Hello?" Nadi's threaded brows rise at the familiar, deep voice that rings throughout her eardrum. She quickly searches through the file cabinet in her mind for the name belonging to the voice only to come up empty handed.
"Hey! I was just returning a call. Who is this?" Instead of a response she receives a chuckle, a deep hearty one at that leaves her to roll over on her back. She stares at her ceiling waiting for an answer.
"So you just call strangers?"
"You give your number out to strangers, Nadifa?" Her down turned lips twist at the way her name rolled off the tongue of the mystery man on the other end. Leaving her to slowly lift her body and place her phone on speaker with her back now pressed against her headboard.
"Oh it's you. Glad to see you finally called." She was in no rush to receive his call but in the same breath was surprised that it had taken him three days to reach out to her. She didn't mind it though, sometimes a straightforward man was just too cocky for her liking. Much like Adonis who just knew in his heart that he'd have her wrapped around his finger only for things to play out completely different. In fact, he was the one wrapped around her finger; ready to take action at her call.
