"At first I wanted the school to be private but it wouldn't make sense especially the neighborhood that it's in so I changed my mind last minute. I got a glance of the auditorium. Baby it's amazing, the kids are going to love it!" Nadi smiles at the excitement in Silvester's voice while her honey eyes focus on the roasted asparagus on her plate that she begins to fork around.
It had been three days since she was fired and even though she reacted out of anger, once she vented to Sloane she was left sobbing. Nadi was an honest person and aside from taking breaks whenever she wanted she was a great employee. The fact that she was accused of stealing left her upset because she was never like that. She may have had sticky fingers during her adolescent years but she had grown out of that habit way before adulthood.
"You okay, you normally clear you plate faster than me." Silvester twists his lips and looks at her food she had barely touched. "Is the flavor too strong?" He cuts into his smothered chicken breast and brings a piece to his lips, optics still focused on Nadi who reaches for her glass of wine.
"No it's really good, I like it. My mind is just elsewhere right now. I'm sorry but I'm so excited for the school. I can't wait to see it myself!' Silvester chews the remaining food in his mouth while carefully studying her, she had been zoning out for the last two days and it was starting to raise suspicion. "Well what's been on your mind?"
He continues to study her, making note of her nails tapping along the surface of his Island as her eyes shift back and forth from his dark ones to her plate of food. "I got fired a few days ago and I am just mad because they're accusing me of something I didn't do." Silvester knits his thick brows and rest his fork on his plate now interlocking his fingers. He rest his chin upon them and focuses his view on Nadi.
"I put in a few applications in the surrounding area but I'm just bummed out. I was working there for three years and never had a problem." Silvester nods and thinks for a moment while trying find the right words to uplift her mood only to come up empty handed.
"What did they accuse you of?"
"My stupid manager Tony said my drawer came up short, does it look like I want to steal money? I've spent two weeks busting my ass for that company and fucked up my shoulder in the process. He really tried it." Nadi huffs and glance at her food then back up at Silvester.
"Try to appeal it. Tell them to look at the surveillance cameras, I know for a fact that have them focused on the registers." Silvester suggests. He brings the brim of his wine glass to his lips, ridding the potent flavors from his palate with his focus remaining on Nadi.
