Evan:
Care of Magical Creatures is supposed to be a double period today, but alas it has been cut short due to the Quidditch tryouts, so instead of getting two glorious hours of Magical Creature content, Evan only gets one hour, which is better than nothing he supposes.
Today is a practical lesson, meaning they're actually meeting a creature today, and Evan couldn't be more excited.
"You know, I heard we're seeing a unicorn today"
Evan almost jumps at the sound of Regulus' voice
"Oh, hello, erm, a unicorn? Really?" Asks Evan
Regulus nods "Mhm, but I overheard that from some Hufflepuffs so I suppose we'll have to wait and see" Regulus replies
"Won't be much of a lesson for us then if it is a unicorn" Evan states
"What makes you say that? I haven't done my unicorn reading yet, I got caught up on werewolves" Regulus asks
"We haven't done werewolves yet?" Evan says with a questioning brow
"I was just...curious is all. Why won't we have much of a lesson with unicorns?" Asks Regulus
"They prefer female company, we'd have to watch from afar" Evan replies
"Oh fuck that, if I'm going to have to stand and gape at a unicorn for an hour then I'm gonna head off and smoke with Barty. Want to come too?" Asks Regulus
A jolt of fear runs down Evan's spine because how does he respond to that?
"What? Why would I want to spend time with Crouch?" Asks Evan, trying so hard to emulate the hate in his voice that would have come so easily to him months ago
"Rosier, untwist your knickers, I know you and Bart are...doing each other? I don't know what to call it, that's the best I have" Regulus replies
"Oh, he told you then?" Asks Evan
"Er...yeah, something like that" Regulus replies
"What do you mean by that?" Asks Evan
"I'm not sure I should say" Regulus replies
"Well you can't say that and then not tell me" Evan states
Regulus sighs "He might have said your name when we were...well, you know" Regulus admits
Evan dissolves into laughter "He didn't" Evan states
"I assure you, he did, I heard it loud and clear" Regulus replies, causing Evan to laugh harder
But their conversation is cut short by their professor, Professor Sparrowe, starting the lesson
"Today, we will be looking at a unicorn that I have managed to coerce out of the Forest" Professor Sparrowe announces
"That's me gone" Regulus says, and when Evan turns to look at him, Regulus is already slowly slipping away.
"Now, the thing with unicorns is that they feel calmer with a female presence, so unfortunately for all the male students in this class, you will have to learn from afar, but if any female students want to come familiarise themselves they're more than welcome" Professor Sparrowe explains
"This is a bit naff don't you think?" Asks Remus Lupin, who Evan has only ever exchanged a few words to
"I suppose, better than nothing though" Evan replies
"I got to watch the quidditch tryouts after this too, it's like the universe is trying to torment me" Remus continues
"Not a fan of quidditch I take it?" Asks Evan and Remus lets out a small laugh
