WARNING: Fathers (we all have daddy issues be so fr) and depictions of a panic attack
Evan:
Evan steps into the shower, feeling calmer with the comfort of the thrum of hot water beating against his skin. There's something about the steam from the heat, the rhythmic pattern of the water droplets that makes a shower so comforting, so welcoming.
Showers are a constant, a comforting routine, something to keep Evan grounded because sometimes he gets so lost in his thoughts he doesn't know what's real or not.
Unfortunately for Evan, though, this shower has to be cut short by the fact that he overslept and needs to head down to breakfast.
He turns off the shower, already missing the comfort of the water as he steps out of the shower and begins towelling himself off. He dresses himself and heads down to breakfast.
Moments after he's sat down, his Mother's Barn owl, Barney, swoops down to his table and lands just in front of his plate that he was filling with bacon. Elvis offers his right leg which has a letter attached to it. Evan takes the letter and offers Barney some juice and a piece of bacon which he takes appreciatively as Evan unfolds the letter
Dove,
Your Father's department is teaming with the International Magical Cooperation Department for business in Dufftown, I just thought I'd let you know in case he sends a letter through asking to see you, you know what he's like. Anyway, are you well? You hardly write to me, Dove, you should send more letters. I love you, Dove
All my love,
Mum
Evan fights the urge to outwardly groan because he really hopes his Father doesn't want to see him.
But the universe is cruel.
His Father's Snowy Owl, Doyle, swoops down after Barney leaves and Evan, once again, fights the urge to groan out loud once again as he unfolds the second letter, reluctantly offering Doyle some bacon.
Evan,
I will be in Dufftown this weekend and would like to see you in the Three Broomsticks at Six O'clock on the Saturday, don't be late.
Father
Evan hates everything about the letter, how short it is, how uncaring, how demanding it is. He feels the hate he has for his Father bubbling up inside of him, but he will go to prevent issues from arising.
Five o'clock rolls around and Evan decides that it's time for him to get ready because it's going to take him a while to get into Hogsmeade. He had better choose something acceptable to his Father's standards too or else he'll hear about it as soon as his Father sets eyes on him.
The thing about Maximillian Rosier is that he has always been proper, he likes things proper, he doesn't like straying away from ordinary and traditional, he's very rigid. Evan has never fit his idea of proper, and that was made worse when Evan chose his Mother in the divorce.
Evan pushes the thoughts of his Father away, instead focusing on his outfit. He wears a burgundy button up short sleeve shirt and a pair of white trousers as well as his white converse with the red stripe around the base. He then fluffs his curls in the mirror and checks his watch.
Five Twenty Five
He needs to leave now. He takes one last look in the mirror and a deep breath before he heads out of his room and on his way to Hogsmeade.
When he arrives at the Three Broomsticks, of course, his Father is already inside waiting with drinks, despite Evan being five minutes early
"Evan" Maximillian says in greeting, nodding his head at Evan in acknowledgement
