Evan:
Evan has always hated his birthday.
No one ever remembers it, and if they do they remember it late, or the day after, or the week after, so he gave up on reminding people.
This is his first birthday without his parents and that makes things hurt a little bit more.
Evan gets out of bed and turns on the shower, needing a good start to his day. He steps into the shower and feels his body thrum to life with the rhythmic beat of the water.
Evan lifts his head so that his face is being drenched in water too, just for a moment before he wets his curls. He goes through the rhythms of his shower, making sure to spend some extra time on his curls today as some sort of birthday treat because he should at least give himself something nice today if no one else is going to know it's his birthday.
He spends quite a long time in the shower, just allowing him to enjoy the rhythm and routine of it all, the way he always does. Eventually he steps out of the shower and gets dressed into a baggy Bowie T-Shirt and bootcut jeans with black converse. He then turns his attention to the mirror where he runs his fingers through his curls to de-tangle and re-curl them before using a drying spell on them and fluffing them out slightly, he then clasps his chain around his neck and leaves his bathroom.
As Evan leaves his dorm room to take a walk around the castle grounds he's met with Kit who's grinning at him "Hey there, Evan" Kit greets and Evan offers him a small smile
"Hey, Kit" Evan replies
"Going somewhere?" Asks Kit
"Just going on a walk around the castle grounds" Evan replies
"Want me to join you?" Asks Kit
"No, no, I'm okay, thanks" Evan replies
Kit nods and scratches the back of his head "Alright well, hey, can you meet me in the Common Room in like an hour and a half?" Asks Kit
Evan nods "sure thing" Evan replies
The two of them part ways and Evan can't help but feel like that entire interaction was quite strange, as though Kit was hiding something from him, but maybe he'll find out later when he goes to meet Kit in the Common Room.
Evan walks through the halls down to the Entrance Hall, but falls short when he comes across Regulus talking to James Potter in one of the deserted hallways. Evan knows he shouldn't, but he stops to listen.
"James, I can't do this right now, not here" Regulus says, and he goes to turn away but James reaches out and grabs Regulus' wrist, causing Regulus to stop and turn back
"I'm sorry, Reg, I really fucked up" James replies
"Yeah, you did, but I don't have the time for this conversation right now" Regulus says, pulling his wrist away
"I love you, Reg" James states
Oh.
Oh so that was Regulus' person that he was talking about
Out of everyone, Evan was not expecting Regulus to have a relationship with James Potter but he supposes surprises do happen.
"You can't do that to me, James, not here, not now" Regulus replies, there's hurt in his voice which makes Evan feel bad for him.
