THIS CHAPTER IS ENTIRELY FROM EVAN'S PERSPECTIVE:
The train is almost at King's Cross, meaning that Evan's two weeks at home is about to begin.
Kit had gone to say goodbye to Elowyn Pieters, turns out that last night they had quite the night, and things are looking positive for the two of them, but that also means that Evan is alone in his train car when Barty finds him.
"I wanted to see you before we got off the train" Barty says as he comes and takes a seat next to Evan.
"I'm glad you did, it means I can give you your Christmas presents to you instead of delivering them to you via owl...and I suppose I wanted to see you too" Evan replies with a smile
Barty grins at him, leaning in and kissing him.
Evan then pulls his trunk off of the overhead holder and opens it up, pulling out two nicely wrapped packages. He then closes his trunk and puts it back in the holder.
"Don't open these until at least Christmas Eve" Evan states and Barty nods
"I wouldn't dream of it" Barty replies with a smile, taking the packages from Evan and handing Evan two packages of his own
"You can't open these until at least Christmas Eve either" Barty states
"Wouldn't dream of it" Evan replies with a grin, taking the two packages and placing them on the seat next to him
Barty cups Evan's face in his hands "Write to me?" Asks Barty
"Of course, you can't get rid of me that easily, Crouch" Evan replies
"Good, I'm not finished with you yet" Barty says with a grin
A comfortable silence settles over them for a few moments, the two of them enjoying each other's company before they inevitably have to part ways.
"I'd better go" Barty says as he catches sight of Kit coming back
"I'll see you in the New Year" Evan replies
Barty smiles and pulls him in for one last kiss before he gives Evan one last once over and then turns on his heels and walks out of the train car just as Kit walks in, looking dishevelled, with his top on inside out.
"Looks like you said more than just goodbye to Elowyn" Evan comments with a grin, earning him a lopsided smile from Kit
"What can I say? I have that effect" Kit replies and Evan rolls his eyes at him
The train pulls up to King's Cross and everyone begins filing out of the train. Once they're off the train, Kit turns to Evan "Don't be a stranger, yeah?" Kit asks
"It's two weeks, Kit, not the rest of our lives" Evan replies
"Hey, a lot can happen in two weeks, man" Kit states
Evan shakes his head but smiles nonetheless "Alright, mate, I won't be a stranger. I'll see you in January, yeah?" Evan says
Kit nods and claps Evan on the back before heading off to find his Mum. Evan does the same, searching the crowd before he spots her. She's wearing a lilac pantsuit with black heels and her braids are hanging loose, reaching just above her hips.
Evelyn flashes Evan a wide smile, opening her arms up and engulfing him in a hug, which he falls into, because he has missed his Mum.
"Hey there, dove" Evelyn greets, kissing the top of Evan's head
