Evan:

Regulus leaves Evan alone on the bleachers of the Quidditch pitch.

He leaves Evn alone with his thoughts, which could go one of two ways, but it's usually never a positive experience, it usually sends Evan into a spiral

Evan should go back, he should go and find Kit, but there's something about the peace and quiet that feels so refreshing.

Everything has become so busy, so full for Evan that he'd forgotten how much he liked his own company. He was never alone by choice, but that doesn't mean he didn't always like the solitude.

Evan ventures into the Quidditch changing rooms and finds the store cupboard, which has some spare brooms in.

Evan doesn't fly, never really understood the hype of Quidditch, which is the only reason people learn to fly really, but right now, he can't explain it, he just wants to have that weightless feeling.

He takes a cleansweep broom out of the cupboard and brings it outside with him. He stands at the edge of the pitch and mounts the broom. He kicks himself up off of the ground and the broom picks up the rest of the work.

Soon enough he's up in the air and the feeling is....well, it's thrilling.

The rush of the air makes Evan feel reborn, revitalised. The wind whips through his hair and beats against his body as he sails through the air, doing laps around the pitch.

Why does anyone ever do drugs when they can just get on a broom?

It's the lightest Evan has felt in so long. He doesn't want to land, doesn't want to leave the sky, doesn't want to get off the broom and face reality again.

He isn't sure how much time passes, seconds, minutes, hours, days, he doesn't care. He just continues to stay in the air, just flying around, embracing the whip of the wind, relishing in the way the cold stings his cheeks. He just loves to feel.

"Evan!"

Evan looks down and sees there's someone on the pitch, so he decides he should probably land now, despite not wanting to.

When he reaches the ground, he discovers that the person that was calling him down was Kit and Evan feels all that guilt resurface at the sight of him.

He discards the broom at the side of the pitch and walks over to Kit who has now taken a seat on the bleachers.

"I didn't know you flew" Kit comments as Evan takes a seat next to him

"I don't" Evan replies

"You're pretty good on a broom, you know" Kit states

"You've certainly changed your tune" Evan comments

Kit sighs and Evan looks over at him, seeing him drag a hand down his face and slump back against the bleachers.

"I spoke to Barty" Kit begins and Evan raises a brow at him "he made me realise that I might have overreacted" Kit continues

"Look, I'm sorry I didn't tell you I just- I didn't know how and maybe I'm selfish, but I didn't want to risk our friendship" Evan admits

Kit shakes his head "no, Evan, it's not- you don't need to apologise. I shouldn't have reacted the way I did, maybe I should have had more empathy, maybe I shouldn't be so black and white in my world view" Kit replies

"Or maybe you were just angry" Evan supplies and Kit gives a small, humourless laugh and a nod

The two of them fall into a silence, neither of them knowing where to go from here, neither of them knowing which one of them should talk next.
