Evan:
Today all the seventh years are taking their apparition tests in the Great Hall, and Evan isn't confident for it, so he's hoping a shower will help him.
Evan steps into the shower, allowing the water to beat down on him. He feels a warmth spread through his body thanks to the warm water. He lets the water soak into his skin for a few moments before stepping forward in the shower to let the water run through his hair.
He lathers shampoo into his hair, massaging his scalp, taking his time to appreciate the motions of his shower routine, allowing himself to feel comfortable within the familiarity and predictability of it all.
Evan waits until his fingers prune before stepping out of the shower, feeling refreshed and slightly more relaxed. He towels himself off and gets clothes on before turning his attention to the bathroom mirror.
Evan withdraws his wand and uses a drying spell on his hair, which fluffs up his curls, making them fall too voluminous for his liking. He runs his hands through his hair, wrapping individual curls around his finger, trying to get them back to the ringlet form they usually take.
Evan then runs a hand through his hair to mess his curls slightly so that they don't look too neat, and when he's finally satisfied, he leaves his dorm room and heads down to the Great Hall where the apparition tests are taking place.
Evan has been trying to wrap his head around the logistics of apparating, and he's even tried to practise it a few times at school in free periods, but to no avail, he tries to think of a spot he wants to end up and rather anticlimactically, he ends up remaining in the same spot, so he hopes today he gets more success.
They have had some lessons, but Evan is yet to actually apparate properly, but to be able to apparate would be a massive convenience to him, especially if he wants to keep going to Death Eater meetings, he can't keep bringing Holmes with him, it's not safe for his house elf, and he can't lose Holmes as well as his parents.
Evan gets to the Great Hall and joins the crowd of other seventh year Slytherins waiting to do their apparition test, all staring at the front of the Hall where both Professor Slughorn and Professor Dumbeldore are stood, staring expectantly at the students.
"I bet you've got apparition down already" Regulus comments as he comes to stand on Evan's right side, with Barty coming to stand at Evan's left side, his hand slipping comfortably in Evan's, sending a swarm of butterflies through Evan's stomach
"Surprisingly I do not" Evan replies and Regulus raises his brows at Evan
"I was not expecting that" Regulus says with a tone of surprise
"I'm not a machine" Evan comments
"Could have fooled me" Regulus shrugs and Evan smirks, shaking his head at Regulus who simply smiles at him.
"Thank you all for being so punctual" Professor Dumbledore begins, commanding silence from the crowd "As you already know, you will be conducting your apparition tests, you all have three attempts to fulfil, if you fail all three you will have to wait six months before you can take another test, however, you only have to be successful once to pass. You will be asked to stand in a hoop and apparate to a hoop opposite you, you can still pass if you are within an inch away from your intended destination" Dumbledore explains
Three attempts is generous, it gives Evan more confidence in his abilities
"I must ask you all now to stand in a hoop, there should be enough for each of you" Dumbledore instructs.
