God and I

In All Of This

When the world is wounding me
Cutting me down into pieces
With it's blade
Limb by limb
I am bleeding out of control
Tripping and struggling to find
My footing
When the voices make me feel
Worthless until I am blind
To a future,
Where are You in all of this?

When I do not have peace of mind
As people's thoughts
Bombard my own
Causing pain and destruction
I am questioning my purpose again
When I can not find the strength
To keep on going,
Yet You promised to stand by me
Every step of the way,
Where is the Divine intervention?

When I feel the need to close my eyes and rest forever
Broken down and damaged
No fight left in me
Without hope everything is black
Above and beyond me
When I wish to sleep forever
As staying awake
Has exhausted my mind, spirit and body,
What will You do about this?

In all of this I wonder
Do You see me?
I know You do but why so silent
Leaving me scarred and cold
I can barely keep it together
So I ask if I should so dare
For I have been here before
No doubt I will be here tomorrow,
Until when?
In all of this where are You?
