Stream led her into her camp, where she lived with her brother. There were three big dens in ther camp, one was a tree stump, the other a small cave, and the last inside a tall rock. A ginger flame-colored cat emerged from the tree stump and waved his tail at her. "Hello." The cat meowed. "I'm Blaze." Rosemary nodded. "I'm Rosemary." She meowed. She looked up at the sky, and she saw that it was getiing darker. She dipped her head. "It was nice meeting you, but I have to go." They nodded and watched her leave. She bounded back to her own den.

She quickly  gathered some moss nearby and lined it up yo have a comfy nest. She curled up and yawned. Thank you mother, for letting me live. She thought, gazing at the stars. And as she said her thanks, one star seemed to twinkle, and glow brighter than the others.

Rosemary woke up to a paw prodding her. "Wake up!" A cat meowed. She opened her eyes sleepily and saw Blaze. "How did you find me?" She asked, yawning. "Scent trail." He replied. At that moment, her belly let out a loud GRUMBLEEE! as she did not eat the day before. Blaze purred in amusment as Rosemary looked at her paws, embarressed. "I'll teach you how to hunt." Blaze meowed. "Thank you!" She meowed. He nodded and led her to a clump of ferns. He glanced at a mouse near them, nibbling an acorn.

He crouched, and she copied. He whispered at her to tell what to do, and finally she got it. She pounced on the mouse and nipped it's neck, killing it. She sat up proudly with the prey in her jaws. He nodded in approval. "You can have first bite, kittypet!" He teased. She glared at him affectionatly and took a big bite of her mouse. It tasted sweet with many of the flavors of the forest, and she didn't mind eating the fur. "It's great!" She mumbled.

He purred at her words and meowed, "I'll teach you more later." He crouched down beside and took a bite of the mouse, too. But what made her heart jump was how close she was to the handsome forest cat. Their flanks were brushing! He finally noticed and gave her a shy glance, and she smiled at him. Even though she had only known Blaze for barely two days, she felt a strong bond with him and his sister.

They finished the mouse and then he stood up, shaking his pelt. "I'll be going back now." He meowed. "I'll come back in the evening." She nodded at him and he gave her a big smile before disappeareing in the undergrowth. She stood up and padded back toward her den, stopped when she heard a loud shriek not far away. She whipped around and changed course, heading toward the sound. There, she saw a female white kitten cowering beneath a big fox, the kitten's eyes were wide in terror.

As she entered, the fox glanced at her, and then dangerously took a few steps toward her. Rosemary stood frozen in fear and she glanced at the kitten, but the kitten shook it's head, motioning toward the tree next to her, but Rosemary couldn't move. I made the wrong choice by coming here. [ 🦊 ]
