"..mate?" He finished, looking at her hopefully. She froze in shock. He wants me to partner up with him! Should I? What if I won't be happy? But I've been experiencing the same loving feelings... "I will!" She declared happily. Blaze rushed up and nuzzled her forehead. It felt right to say that! She thought happily. "I swear I won't let you die." Blaze promised. She twined her tail with his for a long moment until he stepped away. "Will you stay in my camp with me? I would feel better with you and Snowflake there." He asked. Rosemary smiled and nodded.
She padded back to Snowflake and picked her up. "Are you his mate now?" Snowflake asked, her eyes shining. Rosemary grudgingly nodded as she padded after Blaze. "Aha! Knew it! Blaze is my father now!" Snowflake squeaked. She ignored her adopted kit and finally reached Blaze's camp. She decided she would like to sleep in the tree stump. She curled up with Blaze and Snowflake and peacefully slept.
_____
It was sun-fall. Rosemary was watching the sun fall into the tree tops. She had settled into her new life with her mate and kit. She was also glad Blaze and Snowflake had a very good bond as a father and kit. The sun fell down the tree tops and she whirled around and padded back in her den. Snowflake was softly snoring inside and Blaze was out hunting. Prey was getting scarcer since winter was coming. The leaves were already falling from the trees and soon snowflakes would fall. There was also something else. She had finally gotten rid of her collar once she became mates with Blaze and she buried in her old den, so she could remember the happy moments.
She also noticed that her house had been fixed, and the fur-heads, or humans had moved back in. She missed the comfort of her bed but here, she had a new life, and she had to throw her old life away. But she did promise something, she promised that she would never hurt the humans. Never. Ever. In. Her. Life. She also remembered something else. In her dream, Stream had died from a belly wound. In reality, she had died with the same exact wound. If she couldn't save them, Blaze and Snowflake would die with the same wounds as well.
And she remembered the prophecy, "There is a danger coming to the forest. You must turn on your ally, or all will be lost. And remember, never forget the call of the wild." The haunting words of it had haunted her dreams. She missed her mother, and she even missed her siblings, but she knew she would see them in the stars one day. She called the spirit cats the "Shimmering Spirits", because they shimmered like the stars. She was looking forward to joining her family in the Shimmering Spirits one day. One day. She thought. One day I will be truly happy.
