There was a yawn, and then a sigh. The kits were healthy, and they were a moon old. They had already opened their eyes, and they were a pawful. They had just woken up from a nap, which Rosemary had hoped didn't happen soon.

"Hey Brook, let's play cat and mouse!"

"No way! I wanted to play find the pebble! And besides, we just got up!"

"That game is boring! And who cares if we just got up?!"

"Fine! I'll play your stupid game."

"You'll be cat, I'll be mouse! Try to get me!"

"No fair! I was cat last time!"

"Was not!"

"Was too!"

"Not!"

"Too!"

Rosemary rolled her eyes as the siblings bickered. Storm and Brook were great siblings, but they argued. A. LOT. "Kits!" She meowed, and they turned their attention toward her, "I have a game. What about I will be a fox, and you have to hide from me? I'll count to twenty." She coaxed. Blaze and Snowflake walked in the den with prey. "Good game." Blaze purred. She smiled and turned to the kits. "Yes! Yes!" Brook squealed. "Let's start playing!" Storm mewed, impatient. "Alright." Rosemary meowed. She sat down with her eyes closed and counted to twenty. She looked up, the kits were gone. But then she saw two little tails poking out from the grass.

She wriggled her haunches, and pounced. "Got you!" She declared as she landed in front of Storm, pinning him down with a paw. "Aww!" He squealed. She quickly pinned down Brook with her other paw, who was trying to run away. "You got me!" Brook squealed. Snowflake finished eating the mouse she caught and meowed, "Kits, let your mother rest and we can play find the pebble." Brook cheered and Storm pouted but they still ran after Snowflake. Rosemary sighed in relief and curled up at Blaze's paws, allowing him to groom her. "Our kits are a pawful!" He purred.

Rosemary purred, too, "They're less tiring than you!" She teased. He pounced on her, pinning her down, amusement shining in his eyes. "Do you surrender?" He asked playfully. "Never!" She mewoed boldly. They both smiled and then curled up side by side. "Have a good nap, my rose." He meowed affectionately. She purred again, and then fell into sleep.
