"Tell me what happened!" Rosemary calmly asked, thhough her heart was beating in fear. She bounded down the Highrock to face Brook. "We were hunting, and Nightmare ambushed us and took Branch hostage." She panted. "Brook, stay here." Rosemary ordered, though Brook's face fell. "Mist, Lavender, Ash, Cherry, Dove, Lion, come with me. Everyone else, stay here and protect the camp." And with that, her patrol raced toward Nightmare's camp. They crashed through the undergrowth and sneaked through Nightmare's camp, before attacking his rogues.
A she-cat, Raven, jumped onto Rosemary's back, and she hissed in pain before delivering a couple of slashes on Raven's pelt. Raven gasped in pain and raced away. She saw a gray-white she-cat pinning Mist to the ground, and she jumped on Nightmare's new recruit. "Where is Branch?!" She hissed into the she-cat's ears. The she-cat smiled smugly, "Somewhere where you'll NEVER see him again." Anger filled her and bit into the she-cat's neck, causing the she-cat to shriek and fall limp, eyes glazing over. I killed her. She thought, shocked. I didn't mean to. She shook her head and helped her clanmates drive the rogues out, leaving only Nightmare in his camp.
"What are you doing?!" Nightmare snarled, guarding a cave that probably had Branch in it.. "Give us Branch." Lion hissed, narrowing his eyes to slits. "Why should I?" Nightmare snorted. Lion growled, getting annoyed. Nightmare smiled at that, "That's your one weakness." He meowed. "You're too easily angered an-" He was cut off by Lion, who gave a shriek of anger and pounced on him. Lion pinned him to the ground, digging in his claws, which made Nightmare yelp in pain. "Now's our chance!" Rosemary whispered to her patrol. They ran past Nightmare and Lion, and into Branch's cave. They helped Branch out, then ran back to camp.
Then, Lion caught up with them. They all had many scratches and were tired but Lion had fought recklessly in the battle, and had one deep wound on his shoulder, which looked infected. "Go see Snowflake." She ordered Lion, and he nodded. They limped to their dens, and Rosemary informed Flint of what had happened before retreating to her own den. She lay down, closing her eyes..
