Rosemary and Blaze let out silent shrieks before the fox then jumped onto Rosemary. The wind was knocked out of her, and she gasped as the fox pinned her to the ground and slashed her shoulder, making her shriek in pain. The fox was about to bite her throat until Blaze jumped onto it's back, digging into the fox's shoulders. The fox let out a yelp, then shook it's pelt until Blaze fell off. Blaze fell to the ground with a thump, pain showing on his face. Before Rosemary could react, the fox nipped Blaze's neck, and Blaze fell limp.
"NO!!" Rosemary shrieked. "HELP ME!!" The fox started to chase her and she yowled, "BLAZE IS DEAD!!" Soon enough, Flint and Lavender came and chased it out and then helped her home. She was bruised, had many small scratches, and one deep wound on her shoulder where the fox had slashed her. They buried Blaze, and she was told to rest in her den. Brook leaned sadly on her shoulder in the den. "Why did he have to die?" Brook whimpered. She sighed, "Only the Shimmering Spririts know."

The next morning, all was still and quiet. No cat talked or laugh, they just sadly stared at the spot where Blaze was buried. Everyone missed him, especially her and Brook. Rosemary couldn't imagine life without him. The wound on her shoulder was healing, with the help of Snowflake's knowledge of herbs, but it still ached and stinged from time to time. Rosemary wished she had died instead. The fresh-kill pile in the clearing was full, since no one took any prey, so Rosemary stood up, gritting her teeth as her shoulder wound hit the rocky wall, and padded to the fresh-kill pile. She grabbed a fat squirrel. Squirrel.. She thought. It was Blaze's favorite prey.
She padded back to her den and lay down, sharing the squirrel with Brook. When they finished, Rosemary drifted into sleep.

Rosemary was walking in the forest with Blaze. "It's been moons since we hunted together." Blaze pointed out as they walked. Rosemary nodded, "That's true. The last time we hun-" She was interrupted by a growl. Fox. The fox pinned her down, slashing her shoulder so she let out a shriek of pain. The fox attempted to bite her, but Blaze jumped onto the fox's back, digging in his claws.
The fox yelped, then shook Blaze off. Blaze fell with a loud THUMP! Before she could react, the fox bit into Blaze's neck, and he was dead. She let out a sad wail, but then the memory faded. She saw Storm in front of her. "Storm!" She called, surprised. Storm ran into her paws, purring. Rosemary smiled, licked his cheek, and asked, "Is Blaze there?" Storm nodded, "Blaze is with me, and he's happy, so don't worry." He soothed. Rosemary smiled, "Thank you." And then everything faded.
