Call to the Wild

"How could you?" Rosemary whispered. Snowflake's head drooped, "I'm sorry, mother." She meowed sadly. Blaze, next to her, looked bewildered. They had left the kits in the den, while they stood in front of it, so Snowflake could tell them. So she could tell them she loved Flint. Flint was one of the cats who was in Nightmare's group, but left. "Please, mother." Snowflake pleaded. "Let me see him another night." Rosemary was shocked, "How could you ever  love someone who stole you al those moon ago?" She demanded. 

Snowflake looked even more miserable, "He said he was young and foolish. Nightmare convinced him to join because he lied to him. He told Flint that if he helped him, he would rewards, which Flint agreed. But now Flint regretted that, because he didn't want to steal a kit. Hornet and Adder were replaced with Flint, and when he guarded me, we talked, and I...liked him." She meowed. Rosemary hesitated. 

Snowflake added, "When we met, I was seven moons, and he was eight. He was the first cat I have ever met who met my moons, and then we started talking, and we couldn't stop, not even when Lynx told us to stop, we fell in love, mother. If you are able to fall in love, why not me?" She asked. Blaze took a deep breath, "Alright, you are allowed to mate, and we swear we won't be mean to him. You can meet him tonight, and then move to a new den." He meowed, his voice softening. Rosemary nodded at her. 

Snowflake's eyes showed deep gratitude, "Thank you." She meowed, before racing off to meet him as the sun started to set. "You know, I don't regret my decision." Blaze meowed, turning to her. "Me neither, I hope." Rosemary meowed, watching Snowflake's shape disappear over their range of sight. "I also have something to tell you." She breathed. Blaze's eyes widened in curiousity, "Tell me!" He meowed. "I've been having dreams of my mother, Maple, and she told me a prophecy: There is a danger coming to the forest. You must turn on your ally, or all will be lost. And remember, never forget the call of the wild." She meowed. "Oh." Blaze managed to say.

"I don't know what's she's saying." Rosemary meowed. Sudden silence. "I do." Blaze suddenly meowed. Rosemary glanced at him, shocked. "Well, you always talk about the fur-heads, and you sound like you miss them. Have you ever promised to never hurt them, or something?" He asked. And then she remembered. "Y-yes.." She breathed. "The danger must be the fur-heads then. Maybe they're gonna build another black-path? And the "call of the wild" must be to forget about the  fur-heads, and remember to defend the forest...?" He meowed.

"That..could be true..." She whispered. I need to fight them. And I will. I will make a new promise, now, defend your family, friends, and home. She thought. She then smiled at Blaze, "I promise I will defend my family, friends, and the forest." 

Yay for Snowflake and Flint!
