Ethan goes to Foster, his brother and father. Gabriel and Lenny was out in the forest doing a number two and Ethan intentionally waited till those weren't around to go talk to them. The others are around but he takes the chance to talk to the three privately when he can.

"How's mom?" Ethan asks Edward.

"Still refuses to grow up." He says and they laugh.

"And Grammy? Jake said you got her out."

"Still refuses to die." He mutters and Ethan shakes his head with a chuckle.

Edward loves his mother-in-law but she could be a pain, only to him though, so they have this funny bickering between them. She was extremely old now, but she's still going, not strong, but still going. Grammy had Mary when she married the love of her life at a young age, Mary followed in her footsteps and that's why they're young for someone with children at Ethan's age. Grammy is definitely one of the last people in any old age now, maybe the only one. She had been with Mary when Edward was called in, so she managed to bring her.

"Are they safe there?" Ethan then asks.

"Yes.." Edward says and glance at Jake.

"What's wrong?" He asks, sensing something else on their mind about it.

"I'm not sure how to explain it, I just don't like the new commander." He chuckles dryly. "They're not in danger, I just.. They refuse to let us bring any survivors, but Ethan.. There is more than enough room to do so. It feels wrong, having to leave when we see how poorly most are doing."

"He wants to have power over the cities, and he doesn't want to risk what we have there now by taking in people. I don't understand it." Jake chimes in, whispering.

Ethan frowns at that and glance around to see if anyone is close enough to hear. Foster, Edward and Jake take the hint and step closer.

"There's a place. Yn was taken from us and ended up at Haven where she met Mia. Their place is incredible, under the circumstances of course. I can't be sure, but I have faith they've made it till now. The only reason we left was to find you. If it doesn't work out, we could go there. But first, we found a place, months ago. We're going to work for more fuel there, I hope that they may know somewhere we can get a way to contact your people, but we might have to work more to earn that information. And Killian being Killian, we might even have to work to earn the information that they have the information or not." He sighs, it was tiring how greedy people were now.

...

You lay on the blanket with Ethan. His arm around you. He lifts your shirt slightly to stroke the skin on the small of your back. You tell him about the river experience and all that. He tells you about meeting the team in the city and everything he hasn't had time to tell you about until now.

You savour the moment. The feeling of his soft touch on the small of your back. Your fingers tucked under his shirt, playing with the hair on his chest. The bonfire warming you in the cold night air. Your children in the background, playing some games they made in the sand. Stomach full, more importantly your children stomachs full.

Molly walks over and sit down with the kids by the fire. Glancing at you, she winks to hint and you chuckle. Ethan was momentarily distracted so he frowns confused and displeased when you move out of his arms and stand up. You give him a suggestive look and his eyes widen. Then he glances at the kids, seeing Molly with them. He stands up and discreetly start following you as you walk into the forest.
