There are some that are hurt after the incident, so as a nurse you're the one to help them. One of them is bitten and you almost get bitten when that person turns, Ethan saves you again.

The survivors stay at the airport for some time. (Not sure for how long yet, maybe a month or something.) You and Ethan stick together as you try to figure out what's happening and what to do, nothing romantic, though there is something there, you just choose to focus on surviving. Ethan thinks he's too old for you anyway, so he pushes those thoughts away and focus on keeping you and everyone safe. (I try not to be too specific about the age, since people have different opinions on what is too big of an age gap, so you are welcome to choose yourself. BUT Yn has to be at least legal age, even if you as a reader aren't, the character Yn has to be. Especially when it's an age gap story. I personally prefer Yn to be at least 21 years old, but I usually imagine her as around 24-27.)

Ethan and a man named Virgil naturally take sort of leadership. You help out in any way you can, wanting to contribute. In the beginning that's mostly to help out with your experience as a nurse. But you also help Ethan and Virgil keep the survivors at bay in some way, some a little unpredictable, so you get to know them and try to comfort the ones you can. They try calling, radio, they go on the roof to try and get better signal, anything to figure out what's going to happen and if anyone's coming for them, if this is happening only here or all over the world.

As they stay at the airport they live on the food from the kiosk at the airport.
(I would probably want them to have to struggle a bit to retrieve it, a few going down there to get it after having stayed at the airport for a few days already and now people were getting hungry. Ethan is among the ones that goes, Yn offers but he argues for her to stay because she's one of the few with medical experience. Someone probably dying during it, maybe to save someone else.)

Both you and Ethan connect with Parker during the time in the airport, the boy doesn't speak much but does interact with you. Which his mother finds fascinating, because the traumatised boy, from a violent father and an addict with bipolar as mother, has struggled to connect and even just interact with people his entire life, even with his parents, not that they had tried that hard. She gave birth at a young age and had already struggled with addiction and undiagnosed bipolar disorder, and with no one around to rely on other than the father, the boy grew up in a violent and unstable environment.

...

(Not sure for how long they stay yet, I would want some more things to happen during their stay at the airport, but I'm not sure what yet. I don't mind hearing some suggestions from you if you have any by the way, it might inspire me.)

The zombies around the airport have kind of quieted down, but there are still many surrounding the airport. A small group of the survivors at the airport decides to leave. Ethan said he was going to his family, that he knew would head for Greenland, his father being an important man in the government. Some are too scared and decides to wait for rescue. Ethan tries to convince them to go with him, telling them that no one is coming to rescue them. But to no use, so he gives up and focuses on the new group.

Before you get the chance to tell him you want to come with, he takes you aside and tells you that he wants you to come with him, he promises to do everything he can to protect you. He comes up with multiple excuses as to why he needs you to come with, being a nurse for one example. And he had good excuses because you were very helpful and resourceful, and the only one that was willing to come with that had medical experience. But in reality the reason was that he just wanted you safe and to stay with him. Ethan had come to care for you a lot during this time. But he denies to himself why, thinking he is too old for you. But you didn't care about the age difference, you knew you were into him the moment you met him and from the time you talked while waiting at the airport, before everything happened.

You could tell he liked you that way too. Not to be cocky, you were just perceptive like that. Which means you also could tell he was holding back and fighting it. So instead of being the one to make the move, you wanted him to come to terms with the age difference and his own feelings first, on his own. Because if you just tell him it doesn't bother you and that you feel the same, he might think you just want him because this world now doesn't have many to offer anymore and then it wouldn't be as good and strong as you felt the two of you could be. So you left his insecurities to himself to figure out and just decided to be there, for when he does. You weren't in any hurry and you still wanted to get to know him more.
