Mama Bear

This morning you rushed to get on the road, knowing there are wolfs close by in the area. You've been driving for a short while when Ethan sees something in the side mirror.

"Baby, do you want me to take care of that?" Ethan asks and points to the side mirror for you.

You look at what he's talking about and tell him you got it so he doesn't have to switch seats, then you move to the back. Taking your bow, you unlock the roof hatch Ethan had made to the jeep. The team is huddled together in a trailer attached to your jeep, it being the strongest vehicle in the group. They see a hatch on top of the jeep open and you climb out.

You sign to them. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it."

The team looks to Sam who had joined them in the trailer. "I'm still learning but think she saying that she'll take care of it." Sam answer a bit unsure.

"Take care of what?" Foster asks.

You take some arrows that are attached to the roof. The arrows have a line attached to them so when you hit an animal in the right places and it gets through, the arrow is strong enough to drag the dead animal along while driving instead of having to stop and pick it up. You take the arrows and check the line is attached and pull it up in the bow. Holding it ready and aiming on something behind, the team looks back.

Just as they turn, a big brown wolf jumps toward you. You fire the arrow, then in a swift move you have another arrow and realise a fatal shot, killing it. Both arrows got a good hit and it is locked to the line. It gets dragged along the jeep so you put down the bow and start pulling on the line to get the wolf up, before it scratches too much of the furry skin.

The wolf is pulled almost all the way up to you when you suddenly wince at a sharp pang noise. You stare at the wolf you had killed, but now also has a gunshot wound. Slowly you move your head to look at the ones sitting in the trailer.

Your horrified eyes land on the person holding the gun. Foster snatches the pistol from Gabriel with an angry look. They all look at you and see you breathing heavily and looking around in the distance.

Jason's car speeds up and beside yours. Molly climbs out of the passenger window and into your driver seat while Ethan moves. She takes the wheel and Ethan comes up through the hatch. He looks at the team with a deadly look. He pulls himself up and pick up his machetes, then gives you the bag with the other arrows. Looking around you start to see the wolfs coming from both sides. You start shooting when they're close enough for you to hit them.

There are others getting ready with weapons on top of the other two cars. Ethan throws a few different weapons onto the trailer to the team for them to defend themselves if necessary. Soon the wolf comes jumping and he slices at them.

After some fighting while driving, the last wolf is finally down.

After everything has settled and you're parked, Ethan walks over to Gabriel. He has already been talked to by his team leader and been sent glares by the others. Gabriel turns to him.

"Look, man. I'm not sorry, alright? I saw the wolf move and saved your lady."

Ethan just looks at him with a blank expression.

"You need to punish me in some way, to make an example of me or something?" He asks, trying to look like he's not really worried about it.

Ethan shrugs and lean on the car. "I'm just not gonna stay in the way."

"What do you mean?" He frowns confused. Glancing at the team, they shrug.

Then suddenly he's grabbed and turned, receiving a fist to the face. He grunts and try to step away but you hold him, fisting his shirt you get up in his face, glaring at him.

"Whoa, chill woman! I just saved your ass, you should be grateful."

"I had it, it was dead. Have you ever heard of muscle spasms after death?"

Before he can react, you push and trip him. He falls to the ground, you grab his arm and put your knee on his back to hold him down in an uncomfortable position. Then put a knife to his throat.

"When my husband tells you something, you listen." You tell him.

He was too stunned by your deadly glare and the swift move to react. The team watch with wide eyes, then glance at Ethan, who is smirking at you.

"You put my children in danger." You growl out. "You don't want to know what happened to the last person who did that. I haven't killed a human in a long time, and you're giving me the itch for it." You tell him and Ethan decides it's time to step in.

"Oookay." Ethan says and puts a hand on your shoulder to make you get up. You shake his hands off, but stand. "He understands, it won't happen again." He tries to reassure you and put his hand on your shoulders again to cover him from your view. You shake him off and now give Ethan your deadly glare, he raises his hands and you give the man one last glare before turning.

"You go Mama Bear." Molly says as you walk past her, having watched the interaction in amusement.

Ethan turns to the flabbergasted and embarrassed man on the ground.

"Don't worry, she'll forgive and forget. Just let her cool down."

He then turns to give orders to the rest.

"Alright! Sam, Bri, Harry, get the closest ammunition. Take Foster's team with you. Don't go too far, those are lost, we're not staying long enough to collect it. Foster, Doug, Jason, Dad, with me. Molly with Yn. If anyone needs to take a leak, do it now. We're back on the road in 15!" Ethan tells them and they all move to do what told.

Back on the road, the guys are getting settled in the trailer. You take the wheel and start driving. Parker sit in the passenger seat so you can have some school. You just go through some medical things that he is old enough to understand and make him practice. He enjoyed it, and there wasn't much else to entertain oneself with.

Ethan climbs up on the roof of your jeep while you're driving, then pulls Mia up after him. They get settled on the roof while you drive. Taking the deer between them he starts butchering it, showing her how to do it, what is eatable and what's not. Organising it in buckets for next stop to prepare what's eatable.

He cuts off something inside it that doesn't look very good and hold it out for Mia to eat. She glances at the team in the trailer with a disgusted look and they chuckle in agreement. Looking back at Ethan, he shakes his hand for her to taste it and she reluctantly takes a bite. She grimaces at first but then her face expression turns to surprised at the sudden change of taste and Ethan smiles at her. Mia takes another bite then holds the rest up to Ethan, he shakes his head and points to the bucket, to save for later. But she just put it on his mouth, forcing him to eat, he laughs and eat the piece. He watches her in admiration, feeling proud of her as she helps him butcher the deer.

Then he pulls up the dead wolf too. He teaches her to skin the animal so you can use the furry skin in the cold. Mia gets back in the car. Then he hangs the skins on a rod along the side of the jeep for drying and gets back inside the car.
