Hidden under her hood, Zhen tiptoed out of the underground city and into the tunnels with the crystal in her hand, flooding the tunnels with its light. She soon stumbled across a dead end, that had been bricked up. After searching and scanning the walls, she found a brick that stood out among the others and pushed it.

The brick door slowly opened and rotated horizontally as Zhen swiftly ran through the opening, before the brick door closed behind her.

Walking deeper and deeper into the darkness, Zhen stopped meters away from where she, Po and Tigress had found the statue and scanned her surroundings.

It was eerily silent as Zhen held the crystal higher, until she sensed a presence looming over her. Ever so slowly, Zhen turned around to see what was there, only to see nobody. Letting out a sigh of relief, Zhen turned to walk back, but bumped into something metal.

It was the statue.

Yelping, Zhen lost balance for a second and stumbled backwards, her back bumping against the wall as the crystal almost slipped out of her hand. The statue's eyes glowed as The Chameleon's humorless voice spoke to her.

"Well?"

"They're gonna hatch a plan to attack as soon as the rest of 'em come, which must be by nightfall, maybe even sooner. They must be on their way right now. And out of everyone, the panda seems to be the only easy mark there is." Zhen told The Chameleon, who could be heard humming through the statue.

"Excellent, because I got one small task for you." The Chameleon said. Nodding her head and leaning in closer, Zhen listened.

"Before the panda and his friends infiltrate my fortress or even plan how to, I want you to bring him with you and make sure the others won't know. Once they do find out, they'll surely go after you. And by the time they reach my fortress, the panda will already be in his bird cage, along with them."

"What if they'll find out?" Zhen asked.

"Are you questioning an order of mine?" The Chameleon asked back, begrudgingly.

"N-No, no! I'm not, Master." Zhen quickly shook her head.

"Good." The Chameleon replied.

The statue tilted its head slightly as the glow in his eyes dimmed, taking notice of Zhen's unusual demeanor and facial expression.

"Is something the matter, child?" The Chameleon's voice sounded full with care.

"Did you cut the bridge while we were on our way?" Zhen asked.

"Oh, child. I didn't expect you to be left with those... masters. If only you hadn't gotten yourself caught in the first place after I specifically told you to not to abandon the one simple task I've given you. And now look where it's gotten you!"

Zhen flinched and hugged herself tightly, trying to muffle her whimpers. The Chameleon's voice sounded apologetic.

"I needed to hinder them in some way. And it's not like you haven't caused most of the delay, now did you?"

"I-I guess. Um." Zhen hesitated, before she then said. "Actually, I was thinking. The panda might not be as bad as you say he is. I mean, he seems to basically want the same. Equality. And he even said he wanted to give me a chance. He said he saw potential in me."

"What's the first rule of the streets?" The Chameleon asked, her tone becoming serious, making Zhen's ears flop down.

"Never trust anyone." She answered dismayed.

The Chameleon's voice through the statue became less rigid and more motherly.

"Zhen, the potential he saw in you wasn't real. It's a mere projection of what he would do if he was you. And I'm very sorry to have to say this, but it's a selfish world we live in. But that is all going to change." The Chameleon promised.
