In her room, The Chameleon stood at her window and looked down at the city after she had tasked Zhen with dusting off her furniture. She tapped her fingers on the staff, gazing at the sky as she sighed softly, her mouth corner forming a gentle yet vindictive smile as she muttered.

"You never would've gotten this far with your visualization of betterment, Shu Hui, but it's undoubtedly been a lot better since you're no longer around to coddle those lowlifes. I must say, that tiny flower petal in your tea has done... astonishing wonders for me."

Behind her, Zhen was dusting off the closet doors as her ears hung low. The Chameleon slowly and soundlessly turned around and could catch a glimpse of Zhen's eyes, which were almost completely devoid of emotion. Not trusting it, The Chameleon frowned.

"Don't tell me you were actually starting to become friends with that panda."

Zhen's ears immediately perked up as she hastily looked up and stammered.

"What? No. It's-It's just-..."

"Oh, don't play the dim girl with me, Zhen. I am not a fool." The Chameleon scoffed. "He clearly got to you and has been filling your head with his own idiocy."

"To be honest, I... I fought against it and then-..."

"Oh, but that's only good, child. At least there's someone in my fortress with a shred of sensibleness." The Chameleon smiled as she got up from her chair and walked over to the door. "After we're done, we are going to spend some mother-daughter time together. We can do your favorite activities and I'll have all the time in the world just for you."

"Yes, Master. Sounds nice." Zhen nodded. "But you're not gonna hurt them, are you?"

"What's the second rule of the streets?" The Chameleon asked back.

Disappointed, Zhen answered.

"Someone always gets hurt."

"And make sure it's never you." The Chameleon spoke, about to exit, but then turned back. "Oh! And Zhen."

She held out her hand and her eyes showed eagerness, hinting at Zhen that she was expecting something from her and that if she didn't, things wouldn't go too well for her.

Zhen seemed to have understood the hint and rummaged through her pouches, pulling out the crystal from earlier. Zhen carefully handed it over to her and looked closely as The Chameleon smiled vindictively.

"Well done, Zhen. This is just what I needed."

Turning around, The Chameleon was about to exit the room, but not before Zhen asked her.

"What actually happened with those statues?"

The Chameleon chuckled.

"After we had our little chat back in the tunnel, I've summoned them all back and kept them down at the workshop, because they won't be needed for this. I am the one who's going to welcome our "guests"." The Chameleon then frowned. "Why do you ask?"

"Because I-I hadn't seen any of 'em yet." Zhen replied timidly.

"Hmm." The Chameleon hummed. "I see."

Finally, The Chameleon exited the room and stepped through the dark hall once more, inspecting the glowing crystal closely as its glow illuminated her sharp, scaly features and power-hungry eyes. She then took out the crystal she used to control her statues, which was now dim and brittle, yet the dark magenta glow from inside it showed that there was still some magic left in it.

With her hand, she sucked the magic straight out of the dying crystal and placed it into the new one. The old crystal quickly crumbled and broke down into dust, falling through her fingers on the ground. The magic inside the new crystal made its green glow grown dim and turned into a magenta color, before it glowed just as bright.
