Jeongin's stomach churned uncomfortably with anxiousness. He stood in front of Minsung's flat, cluthing his phone and his jacket in his other hand.

It was a chilly autumn morning and Jeongin was anxiously waiting for Mrs.Hwang.

Mrs.Hwang, aka Hyunjin's mum, had called him asking for help.

When Jeongin asked what was the problem, she answered with "I can't tell you now, but please tell me your adress and I'll come pick you up in 15 minutes. Please Jeongin, it's urgent."

Jisung told him not to go, he didn't want anything to happen to Jeongin but Jeongin disagreed with the elder. He felt bad for Mrs.Hwang, she sounded worried.

Jeongin could remember how Mrs.Hwang told him in a pleading, almost begging, tone to hurry and wait outside.

Of course Jeongin rushed outside, bringing essentials before saying goodbye to Minsung and waiting for Mrs.Hwang.

Despite saying that she would arrive in 15 minutes, she arrived in 10 instead.

Jeongin looked at her in concern. Her hair seemed disheveled and her clothes were a bit messy, making Jeongin worry for the elder woman.

"Please, come inside."

Jeongin nodded before entering the SUV and putting on his seat belt.

Once he was settled in the car, Mrs.Hwang pressed the gas pedal and before Jeongin knew it, they were on the highway already.

"Look, Jeongin, I owe you an apology and an explanation." Mrs.Hwang's guilty voice broke the uncomfortable silence.

Jeongin turned his head to Mrs.Hwang, tilting his head in confusion.

"An apology? But you did nothing wrong."

"And that's where you're wrong, it's all my fault." Mrs.Hwang gave a sharp turn to the left, making Jeongin clutch on the 'handle-above-the-car-window' thing for dear life.

'I see where Jinnie gets his aggressive driving.'

"It's all my fault, the end of your relationship with my son, causing both of your pain, and my son's decreasing health, is all my fault." Mrs.Hwang admitted.

Jeongin sat there stunned, what did she mean by that?

"What do you mean?"

Mrs.Hwang gave a solemn smile, "Let me explain from the beginning."

-----

If Jeongin wasn't shocked already by Mrs.Hwang's sudden apolody, he sure was shocked by Mrs.Hwang's sudden confession.

She told him all about how she was the reason why Hyunjin ended the relationship with him. She told him about her previous plans. She told him how Hyunjin was doing, which wasn't good. She told him everything.

Jeongin's breathing became unsteady at the confession.

So Hyunjin was doing all that just to protect him?

Jeongin gulped, clutching at his seatbelt tightly.

He wanted to be angry at Mrs.Hwang. How could she be that cruel?

But in another's hand, he understood a bit about the situation.

'She's just worried about her son's future.'

Jeongin cleared his throat and took a deep breath, processing everything properly. Jeongin pushed his angry thoughts away and decided to focus on Hyunjin.

"How's he now?" Jeongin asked, his face etched with worry when Mrs.Hwang told him he hadn't been his usual self and he hadn't been eating well and only drinking soju and alcohol for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
