𝟎𝟐𝟏. forgetful

THE BLARING ALARM FILLED MATT'S EARS as a low grumble escaped his lips. rolling over underneath the duvet, matt slapped his phone screen a few times until the room was silent and the ear bleeding alarm stopped. matt then rolled over onto his back, rubbing his eyes and coming back into reality that he had to get up for work.

matt slumped his way out of bed then went over to his pile of clothes in his suitcase and got dressed then left his room to go into the bathroom. he was surprised to see julia no where to be found in the hotel room, thinking she could be in the lobby getting breakfast or something else. as matt was brushing his teeth he went back into his room and grabbed his phone off of his nightstand to see you had texted him only a few minutes ago. matt smiled softly, seeing your contact on his phone. he stuffed his phone into the back pocket of his jeans then went back into the bathroom to rinse his mouth and put his toothbrush back.

after matt was done, he pulled his phone back out and opened your text that read: good morning, baby. i hope you slept well and i can't wait to hear about your day later tonight. i love you matthew.

a cheesy grin grew across matt's lips once again as he began to type a response back to you. suddenly, julia entered the hotel room in full glam and ready for the day with a coffee in her left hand.

"well good morning, matt." julia smiled, shutting the door to the hotel room as she stepped into the bathroom where matt was. matt didn't look up from his phone, instead he hummed a response back to julia. "who's got you smiling like that?" she asked slyly, cocking an eyebrow at the smirking boy.

a few seconds later matt clicked off his phone, stuffing it back into his pocket then running a hand through his hair. "ah, nothing. just my girlfriend." matt chuckled, his cheeks tinting pink.

julia hummed with a small smile and a nod. "okay, well we need to get going and get to the office. there's a meeting we need to attend in an hour." she sighed, checking out her hair in the mirror.

matt nodded, reaching for his cologne on the counter and spraying a small amount onto his neck then setting the bottle back down. "let's rock and roll, then." matt sighed.

julia giggled then grabbed her purse as matt followed her out of the hotel room and into the lobby. the uber julia ordered was waiting outside for them once they exited the hotel. julia slid into the uber next to matt and soon they were on their way to the office.

"NO, FUCK!" YOU CURSED AS THE coffee table in yours and matt's living room apartment collapsed and completely shattered, glass scattering all over the floor. before, you were loosing your mind over boredom so you decided to rearrange your living room. but, as you were moving the sofa it crashed into the coffee table and fully knocked it over.

you covered your face with your hands, letting out a loud and irritated groan. you collapsed backwards onto the sofa behind you. "god damnit." you mumbled to yourself, turning your head to look at the mess of a coffee table on the floor. suddenly, your eyes widened. "oh fuck. matt's gonna kill me." you whispered, quickly sitting up.

but i guess in someways you were lucky matt wasn't going to be coming home in five days. but a part of you wished he was here now to stop you from even starting to rearrange your living room in the first place. you let out another groan, heaving yourself off of the sofa then heading to the closet to get a broom.

after two hours of non stop cleaning, every shard of glass was finally cleaned up. and if you were being honest, you were exhausted now and wanted to nap. so that's exactly what you were going to do. you grabbed a blanket off of yours and matt's bed then slumped onto the sofa that hadn't moved since you previously knocked over the coffee table, then you curled into the blanket and pillows and shut your eyes.
