As Umiko slept that night, she was unaware of the cyborg staring up at her sleeping form, gazing upon her round, soft, chubby face.

'Would I even be a good husband?' He thought, snuggling himself into her chest, burying his face right into her neck.

'No. I wouldn't be a good husband to Umiko. I must kill the rouge cyborg before I could ever dream of settling down. Much less with someone like her.' His train of thought continued.

Genos knew,  he knew that his drive for revenge was too important to simply give up on. His family, his hometown, was massacred, all by one cyborg.

It was the whole reason he became a cyborg in the first place: revenge.

Revenge for his family, his hometown, his entire life up until he was fifteen. He wanted revenge for all of it. It was an inferno of rage that kept him going for so long.

But right now, his mind wasn't screaming at him to train, to observe, to get stronger. It was quiet; peaceful.

It was bliss. The same bliss he feel whenever he kisses her, held her, and now, whenever she'd held him.

As he laid in Umiko's arms, his mind began wander. He wondered if he were as he was years ago, fully flesh and blood, would he have a normal life? Would he still have met Umiko? He didn't want to think about it.

He didn't want to think about not meeting her.

Not one bit.

The cyborg relaxed further in her arms, his worries of crushing her under his weight melted away as he monitored her breathing, and her obvious comfort too.

He could hear her purring, her comfort vocalized in such a harmonious, beautiful way. It told him that she was happy, even in her deep rest.

It also told him she was safe.

It told him she was at peace with him.

And he had never felt more happier.

The blonde boy intertwined his metal hands with one of her warm, human hands, soft and warm, unlike his.

Genos played with the hibernating girls' fingers, taking note of her fingernail bed. Underneath the matrix of her nail was another set of nails, appearing to be retractable claws.

Genos did remember a bit back, whenever Umiko had yanked him away at the brink of his murder, rescuing him from perdation, her 'Monster Form' had claws. The set of arms he had worn during that fight had tiny scratch marks on the biceps. Truely thinking back on it, Umiko didn't look like a monster at all to Genos.

She's beautiful.

Thoughts about that day when Umiko had saved his life. It had bothered him how she was able to save him. She had moved so fast. And she knew he was in trouble based entirely off of the general 'vibe'? It made no sense.

But he was too relaxed to care. In fact, he couldn't remember the last time he felt this relaxed at all, to feel at peace, in deep rest.

No- wait- he can. The last time he slept over at Umiko's. Good times, those are.

"Goodnight, Umiko. Thank you for entertaining my frivolous requests." He whispered to her as he kissed her lips ever-so-gently, his lips barely grazing her own in fear of her waking up in the middle of such a moment. He let himself linger upon her plump lips for just a moment longer, silently and reluctantly pulling himself away to rest his head back on her chest, then falling asleep himself.

When Genos awoke, he found himself in the same position of the night before, the cyborg stealthily sitting up.

'9:00 AM'. The analog clock flashed to the left of the futon. "I have an hour before Umiko wakes up. Strange how she has such a strict sleep schedule." Genos mused to himself, thinking aloud. "But quite admirable."
