Hyrulian Warrior

Amidst the heart of the harshest desert to grace the kingdom of Hyrule was the revived king of darkness: Ganondorf.

I perched atop the desert cactus about a couple feet from him. He would pay no mind to me, of course, the king of darkness's true fatal flaw was his overconfidence. He would never think a small bird with a buffy tan over her back, chest, and sides with redish-orange wings, tail and crown, and a black mask would ever be a threat.

Ganondorf had brought his hands up as if summoning some kind of spell and his lucious hair blew back and a sand tornado began to form. I struggled to not be blown back from my perch and when the tornado had cleared two dark seals appeared behind the gerudo king.

Emerging were his two servants, Ghirahim, demon lord of the Hero of Sky's era and Zant, usper king of the hero of twilight's era ready to do his bidding.

I felt a piece of my heart sink as soon as I saw the silvery demon lord. There was something familiar about his face. It's like I had known him. It's like I felt this pain in my chest like someone was tugging at me.

The sensation stopped as soon as the two bowed to Ganondorf.

"Follow my every command, or else perish again." He ordered and without hesitation both of them pledged their fidelity. "Come. The Triforce shall be MINE!"

Ganondorf turned on his heel, causing the sand tornado to enrapture all of their figures and soon they disappeared.

I had to fly back to Hyrule Castle and warn Zelda.

I took to the sky soaring back the way I had come hoping to get there in 3 days' time, but before I could I felt something heavy hit me and trap me to the ground.

I yelped as much as a bird could yelp. It was a large net made from ropes that was so intricately woven. I tried to get out but the rope was being held down by pieces of metal weights on all four of its edges.

"Well, well, well... what do we have here?" Ghirahim's voice sang from a coupel of inches above me.

Without even thinking, I had transformed back into my hylian form.

I met his eyes, his familiar eyes.

"Ghirahim." I said feeling that familiar pulling sensation in my chest.

"Didn't anyone ever teach you manners?" He kneeled in front of me and stroked my cheek with the back of his hand causing this weird sensation in me. "It's quite rude to eavesdrop."

I hadn't realized it, but I was leaning into his touch. It was so strange. I should have been appalled. This was the very man that I had been fighting a war against. Well, not him specifically, but he was a servant of the reincarnation of the greatest evil to ever walk this world.

I had studied all the eras.

I knew his story well. He was demon lord Ghirahim. The servant of Demise and bringer of destruction to all who inhabited Skyloft and the surface. He was only stopped once the Hero of the Sky came forth and vanquished him with his own sister sword spirit.

"And it's quite rude to through nets onto birds yet here we are." I snapped out of my trace like state as soon as his hand left my face.

"A little bite, ey songbird?" He hummed. "I missed that."

With that being said, I felt the most excruciating pain I had ever felt in my entire life like someone was suffocating me. My vision was becoming a blur as my lungs felt like they were burning, and I could vaguely see the demon lord's smirk as I lost consciousness.

I could vaguely hear when he murmured something about a string being far more potent now that the goddess's blood was weakened.

"Ghirahim!" I shrieked.

My eyes shot open to find yet another mirror falling and breaking into a thousand little piece in front of my collapsed body.

I grabbed one of the shards closest to me and looked into it once again. It was stupid, I knew it, but I just wanted to Ghirahim even if it wasn't my Ghirahim.

In it I saw him snapping his fingers and tearing the net off of my unconscious body before picking me up and disappearing into the dark seal from before but not before giving my forehead a little kiss.

Whenever I had premonitions of the future, it was pretty obvious.

It was like reading a book. You would know if you were reading a book backwards or forwards. Something about my gift of foresight was every little vision was always so fluid while the memories were always so misty and foggy.

This had to be like one of my previous visions. In this one, I was princess of Hyrule along with a young maiden almost identical to the Zelda of this time except the maturity in her eyes and her expertise in combat.

I dropped the shard back into the mystical water and it dissolved upon impact just like they always did.

At least I knew a couple of things.

One, the invisible string was far more painful in the future the farther and farther I strayed from Soleil's bloodline. I mean, it made sense. The pain I felt from the invisible string paled in comparison to now.

Two, I wouldn't keep my memories that I have recovered now. I wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. In the one vision, it was for my detriment seeing as Ghirahim used it to manipulate and hurt me. But, in the one I just had, I seemed perfectly fine not knowing him aside from what the historians have recalled.

Maybe the great philosphers were right when they said that ignorance was bliss? Maybe if I didn't know the context of our relationship than I could possibly find happiness with Ghirahim. I mean, in this life before I got my memories back, I felt something for him. I felt this feeling of comfort and familiarity. It was nice not being able to remember all those times he hurt me and only remember the good times. I just want to be loved with no strings attached, no abuse, nothing to stand in our way.

I sound so pathetic. Not even seconds before I touched the mirror, had I been so relieved that I no longer had any invisible string bounding me to him and not having to see the mirror that showed me him.

This man had my head messed up.

And the third and final thing I realized from this vision—not from the first for some reason—but this was thousands of years in the future meaning Demise didn't win. The world would be a shell of its former self had he won. I'm sure he'd destroy all life if he had won.

That means Demise was slain.
