Shauna continues to scream, Veronica and Taissa help to support her.
Everyone goes into a frenzy, trying to get things they thought would help.
They gently moved Shauna to the bed, "Lift your legs," Taissa says. "Misty, what do we do?"
"Oh my god! Someone please just get it out of me!" Shauna yells.
Shauna continued to scream, Veronica held her hand while Taissa rubbed her forehead with a rag. "Deep breaths, Shauna," Veronica soothes.
"Should we boil water? That's something people do, right?" Mari asks.
"Yeah, yeah that's a good idea," Akilah nods along.
"We need to make sure things stay as clean as possible for there aren't any infections," Veronica looks to the group.
"Uh, these are contractions right?" Natalie asks, "Should we be timing them or something?"

Veronica nods, "Yeah, that's a good idea Nat. I think the last one was just over a minute,"
"Is that long or short?"
"Misty! Should we be timing these or not?"
Misty look horrified, like she was about to throw up.
Misty stutters out a response, leading to Akilah to step up. "Okay, I think when they are just regular and this intense, it means she's in actual labor. Like the baby is coming soon,"
"Okay, so it should be over soon?" Taissa asks.
Akilah shakes her head, "My sister was in labor for like two days,"

"No, no, Tai I can't do this for two days."
"Yes, yes you can. You can fucking do anything,"
"Yes you can do this Shauna. Misty and I are going to help, right Misty?" Akilah looks at the curly haired girl. 
 "Hand," Lottie says, walking behind Taissa. "Maybe we can share our hopes with each other?"
"Wilderness! I hope Shauna doesn't die!" Mari yells.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Veronica whispers.
"Why the fuck... Would you say die?" Taissa hissed.
"Die?"
"You're not gonna die, you're not going to die Shauna," Veronica was quick to try and soothe. Shauna screams, practically crushing Veronica's hand.
"Deep breaths Shauna, you got this," she tried to soothe. "Just keep breathing," 

Natalie sits beside Veronica, the girl has worry written all over her face. 
"it's going to be okay," Veronica whispers. 
Misty freaks out, leaving a shocked Akilah by herself, Natalie gets up, going to grab Coach. 
The duo returns, Coach looks horrified.
 "Oh shit," Ben says, looking around. "Shauna I'm sorry-"
"No," Natalie cries.
Veronica looks at the older man, "Coach, please,"
"I don't think I can help with this,"
Natalie lets out a cry, making pleading eyes at the coach. "I just pressed play on the video"
"Are you fucking serious? You're not even going to try?" Veronica looks up at the man. 
Coach shakes his head, Natalie runs her hands through her hair, sitting back to Veronica. 

Akilah takes a breath, "Okay, okay. Shauna, I am going to do everything I can to make sure everything goes okay, okay?"
Shauna nods, "Okay,"
"And ignore him Shauna," Natalie begins, "Women have been having babies for millions of years. You're gonna be fine. Akilah's got this,"
"Exactly, we're not going to let anything bad happen," Veronica reassures. 
"Yeah, yeah, okay,"
"Where's Misty?" Shauna asks.
"Misty's uh, grabbing more rags. Everything is fine. It's just getting a bit messy, that's all," Akilah reassures. 

"What the fuck are they doing?" Natalie whispers, Veronica turns around, "Their losing their fucking minds," Veronica replies.
Shauna continues to scream, nothing but screaming echo's through the cabin.
"Guys, I think it's coming," Akilah looks up at everyone.
Natalie goes to get the crib, Taissa and Veronica sit beside Akilah. Nausea violently tugs at her stomach as she saw what was going on, sharing a concerned look with Taissa.
"Is that the head?" Taissa asks, "It's so purple,"
"What if it's the placenta?" Akilah asks.
Veronica shakes her head, "No, that usually comes after, right?"
"What's going on?" Shauna sobs. "Do I keep pushing?" 
"Yes! Yes for sure keep pushing," Veronica replies.

 "Its no big deal, it's just coming out a little backwards, okay? But uh, try not to worry. I'm just, I'm going to touch you again to try to help, okay?" Akilah speaks up.
Shauna nods and Akilah puts her already bloody hands back between her legs, holding back the urge to throw up when she pulls out a purple like sack. 
Veronica's eyes widen, trying to mask the horror on her face. 

Misty pushes them all aside, "I got this"
"Are you sure?" Akilah asks. 
"You aren't going to freak out again?" Veronica stares at the curly haired girl. 
"Yes, yes I got this," 

"Please don't let my baby die," Shauna sobs.
"Okay. Just push Shauna. I know it's hard. I know it hurts. But, you just need to focus and push. You're so close on being on the other side. And then, you get to meet your baby.
"You got this," Misty adds as her and Shauna begin to breathe together.

Lottie and her group stood around Shauna, continually chanting "We hear the wilderness and it hears us,"
Natalie looked at Veronica, tears streaming down her face. "Come on Shauna, breathe," Natalie gently pleads.
Veronica uses her spare hand to take Natalie's trying to soothe her. 
"Come on Shauna, you got this," Veronica rubs her arm.
"Alright Shauna, it's almost over, keep pushing. I'm palming the head,"
Shauna pushed, losing consciousness.

Shauna jumps awake, Veronica looked up from where her head had been resting on Natalie's shoulder.
"No! No! No! What did you do!? Where is her!? What did you do!?"
"Shh, Shauna-" Veronica stood up, trying to keep her from thrashing.
Taissa grabs her face, "You lost a lot of blood and you passed out, we thought we lost you," |
"What? Where is he? Why are you lying? Why are you lying? Where is my baby? Tai where is my baby? Where is he?"
Veronica felt the tears burn in her eyes as she grabbed Natalie's hand.
"I'm sorry Shauna, I'm sorry," Misty says, holding up the wrapped up corpse of Shauna's baby.
"He didn't make it Shauna," Veronica tearfully says. "We're so fucking sorry," 

"No," Shauna shakes her head, "No, no. No, he was, he was, no he was alive," Shauna grabs the wrapped up corpse, cradling it in her arms. "I held him. I held him Tai, he was alive! He was alive, Ronnie! He was alive and I held him! I tried to feed him! And I finally fed him and he was crying!"

Natalie wraps her arms around Veronica's waist as she began to cry.
"I'm so sorry Shauna," Veronica whispers.
"No, no" she sobs. "No! He was crying! I can still hear him crying! He's still crying! I can still hear him crying! He's hungry! Don't you hear him crying!"

Shauna continued to sob, Natalie grabbed Veronica's hand, leading her away and Taissa held the hysteric, sobbing Shauna.
